Quite a lot of stuff in there from Chris himself, where he confirms there will never be a new release of MFME but that he will comply with the request to supply the source code for all previously released versions of MFME (and I assume MPU3/4 before that).
Make of it all what you will, although if the MAMEDEVs are going to get serious about fruit machine emulation, there is perhaps some light at the end of the tunnel that progress will be made in the mid to long term.
Whatever happens in the future, and indeed when it comes to what's happened in the past, the fact remains that Chris (along with Tony and Re-Animator) have given us many hundreds, nay thousands of hours of entertainment over the years. (Although lest we forget the layout designers, the resource collectors, site and forum hosters, the ROM cataloguers and everyone else who's played their part.)
So whatever the future may hold, I'm extremely grateful for the last ten years of FME and all the excitement and enjoyment it's given me. Cheers to everyone and here's to the future
