Hi

However this is only the source code for V2.1 so is as we know not the latest version of the emulator as there was 3.x allthough this had no designer tools, and of course the much leaked versions 9x and 10x, plus wizard was working on a new version of the EMU that until recently he was planning to give to the world once Gutar had released his emu.

Wiz aint releasing anything due to he would of had to give the source out too cause it had bits or whatever from MAME in it

He has given them the source to 2.1 and he is going to give them the SC to V3.x and there is of course the code for 9.x and 10.x, To be honest i am not happy about this MFME is a nice simple to use program (all some times with the noobs you have to wonder), it has tools for design I would much prefer to see the developement stay with Wizzard, and all though the agreement about mame says he should issue the source code, to be fair even if thay took him to court, and i would think the costs from both sides would have prevented this, I think thay would have had difficulty making him do this, i am sure thay will be other programs out there using MAME code that we dont know about that dont share there SC, I dont think that MAME will be any better for the scene than Wizzard was, I just hope Gutiar keeps working on his EMU so that we have something like MFME out there.

Its also very funny how after all this time the MAME team are suddenly intrested in having Fruit Machines in the program as well when for years thay would not touch them with the proverbal barge pole.

I agree with you totally Cliff, Everyones saying oh why cant wizard just release it will be good for the scene,

Well why cant MAME "just" wavier the restriction and let wizard release MFME without the full source code, then everyone would be happy, oh except the MAME team of course, surprise surprise.

More importantly, it was pointed out to me last night that the last public editor build of MFME was 2.0, this source is called 2.1, does this have the sp.ace and proconn tools in?
