I just got my rat pack fruit machine and have a few questions about it, if anyone can help then that would be great :).

1. its been off for along time before i got it and now its wineing in a sense think its the motors or something, everything works though, will the sound go after its been used or do i need to put some wd40 somewear?

2. i would like to no how to change the payouts and percentages but i don't no what little buttons change it to what, if there a manual or something for my machine as it didn't come with one.

3. its just mainly the wineing noise and when its on next to you wineing it gets very annoying lol. seems to come from the reels and the black box that all the wires go into, as you can tell i don't no to much about them :)

if you can help at all i would be very thankful!

kev.

Rat Pack (I think) is a Vivid Machine, If so its a Genisis 2 Cabinate with MPU5 Tech running it, The whining noise you will hear is a very high pulse rate of electricity being sent to the reels, It keeps them steady and undercontrolled, you will never notice it in a Pub or Arcade but ive had 5 Machines now and they all do it and it does my bloody head in, The older they are the worse they tend to do it lol :) Changing the Price of play and Percentage requires 2 Stake and % Keys which you can get off ebay for around £3-£5 or you can get the ones that have switches on them so you can change the Price and Percentage instead of buying new keys everytime.

Hope this helps!

Hope this picture helps, nice machine you got there, if you dont mind me asking how much idid you pay for it?

I cant remeber the Percentage keys off by heart but I know if you take it out completly (this might not work) it will do to a default 80% I think yours might be 72 or 76

To find out what the current percentage is just open one of the doors, let the machine boot up and watch the screen it will say as an example '5.00C 10' Play then 'DOOR 86'

Meaning £5 Cash 10p Per Play, a door is open and the machine is set at a target percentage of 86%

Oh yes i did that and it came up Target 74.00 so its on 74% then? oh and i payed £50 for it and found £28 in the bottom of the machine lol.

I am a novice at this so the thing you put makes absolutely no sense to me lol. i will attach some pictures and maybe u can tell me what i have by them lol. like how would i go about changing the stakes its on £5.00 at 10p a spin atm.

Just be warned, that not all switchable stake / prize and percentage keys are the same, but as cardie has pointed out, some machines will run without a percentage key, and just run at their pre-set default (Normally 74%, but some will default to 80%)

Two set's of instructions, comparable to switchable keys, supplied by Gold Rush (GD Version), and the other, supplied by Coinection Sales (Non GD version), which are the two most common out there.

EDIT..... Duplu, I am unable to upload these two files to the download section at all. Any idea why?

Also, you may find the generic MPU5 Field Service guide very useful, for general hardware related stuff.

Another thing, do you have a refill key with this machine (Normally a flat Lowe And Fletcher 870000 type, though there are others)?

It's normally used, for basic things, such as refilling the machine without having to open it up (Use the coin slot), volume control settings, and basic book-keeping, and sometimes percentage settings.

Key looks like this normaly (Look for refill key)

http://www.lotelle.com/grs/

Same site, also sells the switchable stake / prize, and percentage keys (As posted in your other thread), that will fit your machine (It's only with JPM and some Crystal / ACE machines you need to be careful), and also includes a small sticker settings chart, to stick inside your machine.
