Hi again all.

Would anyone know where I could buy this chip from please. I believe these are very hard to find.

Please help. I ruined this chip by taking out on a slant.

Thank you anyone who could help.

You may beable to get a version burnt to an eprom,if the roms are available.Try nipping to the mpu mecca and ask the lads over there,as someone may have a copy or could burn em for you.

He's looking for the sound roms, mate. They're the program roms.

Just checked in the new roms that Stu posted, and the sounds are not in there either.

so i'm guessing when epoch does get emulated, theres gonna be the same problems as with scorp4's with there being loads of missing soundies.

Quite a few sound roms turned up in the big batch of roms on the mecca, not every one, but a fair few. Most of the "most wanted's" are on there, gridrunner, wipeout, flashback, spin on it, pick yer peso's, trail blazer, simpsons, beer guide, homer's. etc etc.

The more obscure ones are generally the later maygay originals. Ice Burger is complete as well iirc, although I'd be happy if that never got emulated (preserved) as its one of the most dire machines I have ever had the misfortune to play.

Thank you all for your help on this, I have not got a clue how to programme roms so that would be out of the question LOL.

@Guitar I do still have the rom but I broke the some pins (in my infinite wisdom I thought I would take out the 0 Sound rom to see what it's all about but I pulled it on a slant instead of evenly, hence the now distorted sound.)

Thank you once again all for your input.

Regards.

Rob.

Broken pins dont matter. I can straighten the remaining legs, pop it in the reader, then cut some lengths of brass wire, pop the brass legs into the reader where needed, and spot solder the brass to the remnants of the broken pins (can dremel the rom casing down a bit if needs be). And read off the ROM.

If you want a new ROM programmed, which of course you will, if you supply a blank rom, I can program it. If you dont have a blank ROM, I'm sure someone round here can help you out.

I dont want any money for doing it, but a small donation to the website would be appreciated im sure.

If he can send the broken rom off to you, mate, it might be a good idea if he sends you both of the sound roms and they can get dumped by your good self to complete the programs roms we already have. :)
