After reading about the release-Sidewinder.Im now puzzled over what is Mage/Agemame???And how this works,as in getting it onto and running the games on your pc!-Ive looked through the tutorials and see nothing on this topic.
Looks to be some good games in the section too.
All help/replies appreciated.
Im more than sure all the download material will be on the repro-just be good to get some info on this.

AGEMAME is a variant of MAME with only gambling games added to it (mostly video type, not fruit machines or other non-video/mechanical games, although a few are in there for test purposes). AGEMAME was originally designed back when MAME didn't allow true gambling games in the official build, unless they were strictly amusement (non-payout) games. A good example is when comparing Lovely Poker (payout) to Lovely Cards (amusement). MAGE was just the former name of AGEMAME, used in the first few builds.

These days, all of the AGEMAME code has been included in MAME to make it easier to maintain, making AGEMAME itself redundant.

Anything in AGEMAME is also included in the regular version of MAME over at mamedev.org.

I am not sure if any fruit machines actually run inside (AGE)MAME, it's mainly the video type machines which are worked on in MAME as they usually have similar hardware to arcade machines (I believe the video type machines used to be called S16 in the UK until recently).

Dr Who and Gamball run in MAME without any major issue. However, video machines tend to be better covered. There aren't any S16 machines here though, we're talking more about the video SWPs from the 80's-90's (Legacy Category C and D)
