Hi guys wondering if you can help me. I am trying to run Microsoft Flight simulator and I am getting an error message see picture 2 and also I am unable to run dxdiag! When I do I get the error message as seen in picture 1. I have looked on line and it says not to download the dxdiagn.dll dll as most are full of spy ware and crap. I can't un-install directx 10 as its a part of the windows XP system so I'm at a loss as to what to do. In the second picture it's going on about shaderes and saying I need XXX GFX card to run this game when I have a GFX card that is more than capable of running the game. It seems the game cant find the GFX card but yet other sims like rail yard sim and truck sim all work fine.

There is a bit of info on the directx here http://www.instant-r...-windows-vista/ but says about directx 10 is part of the vista operating system. I have tried to reinstall my gfx card drivers which did nothing so I have no idea what to do now. I know there are some computer boffs on here so would be grateful of some assistance with this problem. Cheers

Rob

PS this is the drivers and GFX card I have

I have tried this http://www.personalc...ors-on-windows/ and I can't get access to my files, I am the administrator and when I go to change the name of the file it says you need to provide permission to make this change, I click OK then it says you need permission to perform this action try again or cancel. I can't understand why it wont let me do this. Doing my head in now. :swoon: :realmad:

Tried that ploggy and it installs and closes. I try to run dxdiag and get the same error message. I just looked in the Windows/system32/directx folder and its empty is that right?

Also does directx install dxdiag? as it looks like the dll's are from 2009? take a look at this vid ploggy and see what you think. Cheers
