Just a quick topic here :)

I noticed that Barcrest have just released ANOTHER clone of Cash Bang Wallop - that means that on their homepage their 2 most recent machines are the same, albeit with new graphics!

Cash Bang Wallop!
Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!
Bling King Crazy!
and now.....Full of Beans!

Why is it that the worst machines get so many clones - also noticed a new clone of Monopoly doing the rounds....

Monopoly
Cops N Robbers
Lord of the Rings Mk3
and now...Mazooma 'Return of the Count'!

Not that they are the worst machines, but they are far from the best.

Anyone else got a problem with clones? Wondering if clones exist for a particular machine? Or are just plain bored and want to argue about how bad machines are these days :)

BarcrestBenito

P.S I'd like to say good luck to anyone who starts [or has started] their exams in any way/shape or form this month!! I've got my first on Monday so spose I'd better sober up :o

Yeah, the shit machines get cloned because they make the most money although Barcrest have made clones of some pretty decent machines in their time.

i.e Psycho Cash Beast / Frenzy / Big Brother

Red Hot Knights / Neptunes Treasure / Sheik Your Money / Monty Python.

I love all these machines. :D

Yeah, I noticed from the BFM site a while back that the best machines were 'Cashbox Sucesses', or were award winning for 'Cashbox Performance'....surely all machines at 70% would pay out 70%?

I assume it means that BFM machines have to take say £100 over the back before they drop, but they still scare me most of the time :)

I would hope that machines with the best gameplay would be cloned more, which, as you said with the Monty Python and clones, was the case at Barcrest up until about 1999 :)

Perhaps when a machine becomes REALLY bad [as almost all machines on £25 are awful!], people should stop playing them? That way they wouldn't be 'cashbox successes' and BFM et al would have to make a game worth playing :)

If the machine is tight and gives a lot of low wins but kills you after £3 then more people would play... I know this sounds strange but your average chuck the change in punter would rather get on the board and be offered £3 then either collect it and chuck it back in or die and think oh well i had £3... This way it gets more coins in the cashbox and is a good money maker. Machines we like with a forcable play for a £100 streak don't go down well with the change from the bar brigade is they will normally give bugger all for £3 if a streak has paid out and they won't play it again.

this is why all the crap machines from our point of view are good machines for the operators to make money off... :(

There is some truth in that...
Mostly we (leisurelink) classify players into 4 or 5 categories. I forget which
1- people who don't play fruit machines
2-people who would spend their change in one whilst for example waiting on somebody.
3- casual players who would spend up to £10 in the hope of winning more (very little skill level)
4- wannabe super players, players who want to be a "BIG WINNER" and spend up to about £50+ to find out all the hidden features and how the machine plays in the hope of developing a strategy to empty the machine.
(This is who most machines are targeted at)
5 - super player, knows all the "tricks" and "cheats" watches the machine, knows all the emptiers and emptys the machine at every opportunity.
Bad for business as cleans out the machine for all the other players who get disillusioned because the machine is robbing them.

This is what i remember from a meeting ages ago but might be a bit off due to the drink!!!!

A good cashbox on a machine is widely accepted as a being because of a popular machine and design and not who plays it as the machine will make money regardless of who plays it,But the profits will increase due to the volume of people playing it

It's not the worst machine around....but then, think about machines such as Spiker the Biker - IMHO one of the best MPU5 machines around. Theres not ONE clone of Spiker, even though it was an interesting concept, using a SuperBoard which can't kill you, Feature upgrades, Cash Repeaters, and plenty of stuff to keep you interested.

Cash Bang Wallop is an OK machine, and has been cloned more times than I can remember...well, maybe not.

Cash Bang Wallop >
Gimme Gimme Gimme!>
Interesting Hybrid Clone by Mazooma - Grand Blaster Cash >
Bling King Crazy >
Full of Beans.

Thats 5 clones of a pretty boring platform IMHO, sure theres methods for playing it but seems to me that its normally blocked at the £2 > £1.60 level as are most other Barcrests of that age [High Flyer anyone?]

Until 'All Fired Up', a clone of Hot Stuff / Vamp it Up was released, the Barcrest site had 2 clones of Cash Bang Wallop on the homepage....which in all honesty is like sucking blood from a rock.

At least All Fired Up is a clone on Vamp it Up which was another interesting machine, crossing normal and superboard on the same board :)

You missed out All 4 One :D......the shitty western one was the only one I ever got consecutive Red modes on, and was called Quick on the Draw.....I guess I'll agree...a pretty tired set of clones there :)

That return of the count is a nasty git, gives you frequent super board only to let you up to £5 then hit mystery for a superbank wipeout BEWARE.

Card shark is one of the best machines ever made whats wrong with you!

All Fired Up, not played this yet but the original, unchipped, £25jp hot stuff is my favourite machine of all time, what i would give to find one of those, was a good while before they were rechipped actually, used to take £10-£15 over the back for hot stuff streak of £25-£50, then it would take £60 for £25, then another £15 just to get on the board after that!

I think eventually, with the exception of the people that are addicted, the manufs. are going to lose their players.....

From what i've read on here, there's a whole bunch of crap going on now in the industry just to milk people harder. Sure machines always were something you'd generally lose more on than win, unless you were lucky - just look at the old 2-3 quid jp machines which you couldn't really get streaks on and walk away with pockets of cash.... unless you spiked them. ;) But all this stuff about chipping, the exposure of machines being 'fixed/unfair' aka the fairplay stuff, and now machines saying there will be times you won't win will, or at least should, estrange people enough to start walking away - or in the instances of the addicts, joining support groups to help end the cycle of making a bunch of people richer.
(imo, those people now = scumbags because of the above methods being used to bilk)

Of course this is a pov from a brit in america who hasn't played fruities since 96, with the exception of vegas crap, so you'll have to forgive any errors regarding the current machines over there. ;)

i must say that clones are quite annoying, especially when they clone the shit machines,
but the best clones in my opinion has got to be :
Temple of treasure,
Party Animal &
Addams Family

the only difference is that temple of treasure as a different way of getting bonuses and nudges

I could not agree more with this. I do not play machines in pubs (especially JD Wetherspoon) because they are a rip off, but I DO play 5p/10p machines in the arcade.
The meaning of A.W.P is "AMUSEMENT" with prize, potentially putting £100 into a machine to get a streak is not amusement, it is gambling !!!!
where as if you were playing (for example) Road hog 5p/£5 there is a entertainment factor there which I think is lost iin todays GAMBLING machines.

yeah most of the machines mentioned in this post are down my local arcade actually.

gimme, gimme, gimme and clones gives too many 12 from 11's and it does it no matter how much you put in. that turbo gamble to start with is bad enough!!

Rat Pack (line 'em up frankie, oooh that was smooth lol) i forced it cost me £35-£40 to get an IM only to get a NO REPEAT jacky grrrr.

Best clones are Red Gaming ones Fairground, That's Magic etc. Dead easy to force unless it's had the ar*e dropped out of it. I get it at least once a week the Fairground in my local arcade. Not bad afterplay on them either.

Twice in 2 weeks mind you i've forced Party Time and a clone of it (the one with the horseshoes with pound coins on them) for quite a tidy sum.

A little off topic but i wasen't gonna start up a new thread just to say that lol

ps makes a change the staff in my arcade are really nice even if ya winning. I know some of ya have had bad experiences of being barred etc.

That makes a refreshing change!!
Woodpecker what a refreshing change (top advert when that bloke drives in the puddle!!)
Ey Up!

Going back a little,

Magay:

Search light,
Spot light,
Hollywood ? (I think thats what it waas called)

MDM:

Colossus
Big apple

Global games:

Spotted dick,
How bigs your rock,
Jiggin in the riggin,
Thrills and spills,

3 different tech's the games almost the same and they all play shit unless they are going to streak £25 (5JP).

Is it my imagination or did manufactures not clone very much until around 1998 onwards.

I personally think Cash Bang Wallop is sweet... we had it in our pub for the time you get them... ie before leisurelink replace them :) Plays quite well, if you play after someone put quite a bit in its not rare to see £10 off the first cash shot! Forcing it is pointless though, usually £40 - £55 in for the £25, no repeat or afterplay either, but fun from a non-profit pov.

I apologise for my awful username and previous posts from 13 years ago. I was a misguided chav.
