As the title says we only emulate machines older than 3 years and in many cases the technologies need to older than this. Any MPU5 machine won't be seen for years if ever.

there are releases on a very regular basis, look through the archives and you will find hundreds.

You will not find and "recent" machines emulated, partly due to the un-official 3 year rule, and partly because the newer machines are based on an un-emulatable format such as mpu5, this will not change for quite some time.

We have stacks of roms. I'd say we have 2 unemulated machine roms for every single emulated machine rom. Roms are only half of the game. With no emulator to run the roms, how can we make layouts?

Just a shame most of the roms we have are for techs still in use by the manufacturers.

surely such machines as psychobeast, arabian nights, king kebab, austin powers, monty python ARE 3+ years old, so why not do the mpu5 emulator just to do these ones... infact I can think of loads of machines 3 or more years old on mpu5..

can someone explain why everyone is so scared of emulating something, when barcrest are hardly likely to give a toss for the sake or such old machines.... I mean dont they use a different tech than mpu5 now anyway? or is it simply too hard to emulate?

MPU5 is still very much in use by Barcrest and there is *NO* mpu5 emulator in existance.

Word on the grapevine is they are not bothered too much about mpu4 but if an mpu5 emulator did exist, they really would stomp their feet.

My advice, just enjoy what we have. Most new machines are sthit anyway.

lol, and have the same self destructive free for all, under the counter unauthorised layout situation that we still have today with Impact technology?

If theres any chance of an MPU5 emulator making an appearance on the scene, the earliest we will see one would be at least 3 years after MPU5 has been dropped by all manufacturers.

In all honesty i couldnt care a rats arse for streaks, etc just give me good old fashioned gameplay and amusement.....something i havent seen on a new machine in a long long time..............
