Hi all, ive got afew games nearly downloaded by torrent which are in rar, just wondering if anyone knows how to get them playing? main one I want to play is microsoft flight sim x

Start by using winrar from www.rarlabs.com to uncompress the file and then tell us what you get.

have you got winrar to show iso's as rar files (to check this open winrar program and click options - then settings - then click the tab called integration) this gives a list of all formats that winrar associates with and uncheck iso then click ok then use a program called daemon tools or virtual clone drive to mount the iso image this will then make the pc think the game cd/dvd is in the drive and will let you install and play the game.

if its an actual winrar file youve downloaded once you extract the contents to a destination of your choice it will probably be a an iso just mount it in deamontools or virtual clone drive and install the game then goto game copy world and find a nocd patch for the game youve installed and copy/paste it into the install directory (if asked to overwrite file then firstly make a backup of the file your going to overwrite then click yes then run the game using the nocd patch).

ps one tip when using torrents for games/large files
make sure you check the comments on the torrent site for the torrent your going to download (usually towards the bottom of the webpage or click the comments tab and read)
do this so that you know that the file is the real file you want to download and dont download rars or zips with passwords unless there is a password shown or stated as NO PASSWORD onf this file.

as long as you can get a virtual drive with deamon tools lite then yes otherwise id suggest using virtual clonedrive it free to download just search google.

downloaded clonedrive, how do i use it? do i have to have all the file and it extracted? extract in to a new folder on my desktop? sorry about all qs

ok here goes

1. install clone drive
2. check taskbar (where the pc clock is bottom righthand of screen) there should be what looks like a silver cd icon (when mouse is over it it say virtual clonedrive)
3. once your game has finnished downloading check to see if its iso or rar, if iso goto step 4, if rar then exctract contents of rar file to a folder on desktop (call it the name of your game (ie. ms filght sim)).
4. if it is an iso then move mouse to taskbar find the virtual clone dirve icon and right click (it offer options of Settings & Drive(H) hover over drive H to open next menu and look for word Mount and click it. a controlbox opens for you to navigate to your iso image, (so search for your game) and click ok, once youve done that it will start the installation process of your game,(if its a multi cd install then when asked mount the next cd the same way as you did the first.(besure to unmount first then mount the next disc).
5. ###Game Installed dont it start yet###
6. visit www.gamecopyworld.com and on first page that open click the mirror "Europe" on next page click "Enter" you will see on the right hand side of the page Search GCW and underneath that it says "PC" & "GameIndex" with letters below click on the corresponding letter (ie."F-M") then locate you game and look for either nocd patch or nocd.
7. once you have located the nocd/nocd patch download it (it should be a rar file with a exe & text file inside) read the text file for instructions.
8. before you copy nocd exe to the install directory backup/copy the original game exe. (just incase something goes wrong)
9. play your game & enjoy.
10. the use of downloaded games isnt really legit therefore if you like the game think about buying it (ha as if anyone does).

if your game has been downloaded as a rar file and not a iso this process wont work.
therfore if its a rar file and you have extracted the contents and you have a setup file in you new folder with other game files just double click the setup exe and install from the folder.
