i work night shift and as can be imagined come 2am i'm really bored there is access to a p.c which is networked and controlled by some power mad I.T manager somewhere

you can choose your own user on the p.c which is only accessible by yourself and the I.T department when you log on to the p.c as yourself you have an individual e-mail account and access to the internet

this is where i need help the internet is controlled by websense and any decent site is blocked i.e this site comes under the games categorie and can't be accessed chat sites can't be accessed etc

does anyone know of amyway that you can get around websense or web blockers??

I think you will probably find that there isnt any legal way around it...its there for a reason (to prevent any potential viruses getting into ur works network).
We have the same things with the pcs in our office,and although i can access any website from my laptop i have been told NOT to install any external software (including games etc etc),for the same reasons

i think they put in on to stop us looking for jobs playing games chatting looking at porn all the fun stuff really in the middle of the night

you can access really boring intelligent look at whats happeningin the world or lets learn sites

e.g you can get the bbc website up look at news programme information etc but can't got into the sports section cos sports is banned

you can't downlaod anything onto the pc's anyway because they are so outdated nothing would work

If they block this site by site name then simply access it via http://66.98.204.99/admin1

If they block it by IP address then you are stuffed.
