Hi. Just wondered if some of you could help with a little info.

Have acquired a bellfruit Rich Geezer fruit machine off a friend of a friend. I cheekily joked about how it was taking up so much room in their living room and how they should give it my friend. Well surprisingly it just turned up. Dont get if you dont ask I suppose.
But anyway for various reasons we cant contact the guy who gave it us. Well would prefer not to. But when he brought it round he only gave us two barrel style keys.

One opens the bottom hopper thing is it? The other goes in below the buttons and puts it in service mode? or something. There is another rectangular keyhole but we dont have that key.

If it is turned on without the service key it starts making loud noises and saying door open.
In service mode it has free play but it also seems to have perma holds so it is very easy to win.

Oh and I know very little about fruit machines as I dont really play them in pubs etc.

But I have looked around on the net but just cant find any info about the missing key and bellfruits spares section is customer only.
I would like at the least to get it working without the perma hold thing and maybe now and again set it up to be used properly with money at parties.

And I suppose in its current state it has very little re-sale value too.

Any info on what I can or cant do with it from someone more knowledgable would be appreciated. Is it worth ringing bellfruit up about it? Will it cost a lot to get it sorted?

A new lock looks the answer for you, unless someone knows another solution.
as it seems that a door is open.is this a front door opening cab, or back door? if it's a back door cab, check all connections and make sure doors are locked..anyhow here is a link for a lock and keys. hopefully this will help.

on this front opener rich geezer there is a white cherry door switch located between the locking bar and the lock on the top door, make sure the bar is slid right across.

locks can be got from ebay (cheaper than select amuesments) for half the price.

Ah i saw this bar thing. Yeh it is in the middle of its slot but seemed quite solid.

So I could just drill out the lock I have no key for? Has it got security stuff on it or just a simple lock? I mean would it render the machine unusable untill i fitted the new lock?

Thanks for the help btw.

And if you could find me an ebay auction for the right sort of replacement lock?

Cool I thought it was a bit of a turkey but you have cheered me up.

i believe it would be fine yea

with fruit machine locks they are actually quite basic

usually they perhaps hold a button in place which determines if its going into freeplay mode or not, etc

the lock doesnt actually connect to anything, just hooks the door shut, i think there was basically no need to have any cables or wires to prevent tampering because who would go to their local arcade/pub with a drill and try to get into the machine that way?
