I've seen some quite interesting ones looking through the bay, with random spinners etc. It's for home use, so ideally, it'll play nicely... any thoughts on what to look for, or better, anyone selling one for cheap?

ebay has a few at the moment, but your looking at around 1,500-1,800

I've seen them up at that price, but hoped that was on the OTT side, having seen some Astras going for £400-500.

Maybe I'll just have to do with my sims, until someone works out the systems on these, and puts out the actual software and patches / emulators, like the SWPs...

Any thoughts on my current machine, and what it would fetch, either sale or part-ex? Stemik aren't interested in Part-Ex, but Advance had said they would consider it if I'm buying from them. (makes sense if they're delivering up to me I guess).

I hear there are some machines which can't legally be played now - I think Random Spinner was one of them... would these not be cheaper to buy?

I'd happily put my existing machine and a Core2Duo laptop in towards the deal, with some cash too...

LOL - I've heard not-so-nice things about them. They didn't want to part-ex my machine either... Advance did.

How feasible would it be to get just the PC / etc. from a naffed machine?

I've got touchscreens already. lol. Or even just a hard drive from one (with sw)

Do they have hardware protection for the software? Dongles etc?
