right

just loaded up some S4 roms into mfme and im getting either

reel 4 error 24

or

reel 5 error 25

how the hell do i fix it?

i know i had this problem before but ploggy fixed it for me

so how do i go about doing it myself?

try it in mfme 10.1 n piss about with the reel jumpers in config

reel 4 error will possibly be the machine uses a band reel or disc reel, best to try the roms in a machine that has a band reel see if that helps.
or click config then mpu5 and tick reel jumpers 4-5 that will hopefully do the trick

Jack the kipper has been done mate.. gen meter error means you need to change them, e.g if you have the meters set as meters 2-1 in 3-1 out , you need to change them to sec 2-1 in 3-1 out, also tick the sec tab to yes. or vice versa if they are set to se
