Just to initially state.... what a f*****g useless bunch of tosspots. :D

'Caught' speeding during the summer. Doing 55, yes 55 on the M1 in f*****g Yorkshite. Apparently they had 'roadworks' on the go. Could not remember if it was myself or the missus driving as we swapped often since I had just injured my knee. (Impossible for us to state who was actually driving but not hiding the fact it was one of us.)

To cut the story short a bit after a long f*** on with letters asking for photos and phone calls etc we get the 'speed awareness course offer.'

Ok I thought not so bad, pay for course no points etc, no chance of getting f***ed over in court which would happen since we are fine upstanding members of the community. (i.e. not f*****g chavs or muggers or dare I say it an ethnic minority - or majority depending where you are from.)

Great, got the letter.... choice of courses - Sheffield, Barnsley or Doncaster. FFS no way I'm driving all the way down there to be patronised for 4 hours and driving back. Result on the letter - 'courses are available in some other areas of the country, you can view these by visiting TTC Group - Speed Awareness Courses'

Marvellous so I visit, click on Northumbria and go for a local course.... job done. Like f*** is it. No record of my details. So ring the customer, ha customer... cheek! helpline. Again no record of my details. So I ring South $&%#shire Police to check if this offence actually happened, yeah it did and details are correct. So back to Northumbria course helpline, sorry we have no records..... grrrrrrrrrr. Ok back to SYP, guess what? The useless f***ers are 'not in partnership' with Northumbria so I cannot do the course there, I can only do it at the places mentioned on the letter. FFS so why does the letter say I can go other places???

So basically I have no option but to take the points/fine or have my day in court just because they are not in 'partnership' with my division. I'm sorry but that smacks of discrimination to me..... useless bastards!

Honestly totally pissed off with the ineptness of this f*****g countries organisational skills. They cannot even get this correct. f*****g useless money scamming bastards because that is all it is no matter what they say it's a total f*****g scam. Cameras at accident hotspots only they claim, bollocks, no accidents there for ages according to the web and at a local spot there has been 12 in so many months and guess what.... yip no speed calming measures.

THEY ARE NOT INTERESTED IN CATCHING REAL CRIMINALS AND DISHING OUT SOME REAL JUSTICE ALL THEY ARE INTERESTED IN IS SCAMMING f*****g MONEY OUT OF US!!!

I do agree with you on some points Trouty......Not to do specifically with the situation, but it shows in general
Too much bureaucracy and form filling to get everything arranged.....
Not in partnership is a joke...Should be one main partnership for the country with seperate divisions.
And money grabbing? Bang on I say..Infact the whole system is a joke. Even if it does mean having to pay the fine no matter what, the punishment should be "Fine or ...." Nothing else. Just a fine, No option. Get more police off the desks filling in forms for Speed awareness courses and that and more of em on the street solving the more serious crimes round here.

Mind you, cameras at hotspots only...There are probably no accidents because the cameras are there lol, They do seem to be making much more work than is needed though over your speeding. How many "40" signs were around on the M1?

This is a site for EMULATION purposes of older machines. Not playing strategies.

(DOND is around now on this site..... How long was this sig out of date...!)

They should let you know via signage that 'roadworks' and 'reduced speed limits' are in place.

You should also not have to self incriminate yourself. What happened with 'innocent until proven guilty?'

All it is is a money making scam, no justice, no lowering accidents etc. Just a pure and simple con.

geddy what you could do is become an MP and claim expenses on the speeding fine. That, actually sounds easier than what your having to go through at the moment.

Who was the fine made out to, who's name on it?

If you say the missus was driving at the time and your name is on the fine, there is no case to answer......

Were there Cameras along the route that you may not have noticed?? They need photo evidence of you behind the wheel......or pull you there and then...

I only say this as 3 years ago, i was done for doing 41 in a 30 zone by a roadside plod with a speed zapper.

The letter / charge dropped through the post 2 weeks later. I challenged it as i was told they were in the wrong as they could not prove who was driving the vehicle at that time, they had no photographic evidence of me behind the wheel. Apparently plod should have pulled me and given me the endorsable fine there and then!!!!

I went to the magistrates court 5 weeks after receiving the letter / charge through the door, was in the court approx 2 minutes and the charges were dropped due to lack of evidence, on the clerk of the court's say so..........

I was even allowed to claim expenses for the trip to the court as compensation in the form of my solicitors fees, i was refunded my parking money and the cost of my breakfast on the day and the 2 cups of 30p coffee while i was in the court.

Just my view on things............

I have the photo. All the photo does is identify the car. It is the responibility of the keeper of the car to identify and thus incriminate the driver at the time of the offence. Like I said what has happened to innocent until proven guilty?
