I like the club machines 25p/£250jp, I would much rather put money in one of those. Putting money in a pub machine with 30p a play seems to be a bad idea compared to it bigger brother. But you do get more jp's on a pub machine, but it can take your money faster than a club one when its on a bad run.
The thing with pub machines, is when they were introduced, they were something to occupy the punters attention. An alternative to darts or dominoes. Something to play on whilst waiting for the lads or the girlfriend to turn up. Most social clubs still encourage a similar approach. Moneys raised usually being used for the benefits of the clubs members.
Nowadays, pub machines are now a piece of equipment to increase revenue. It's sole purpose is to raise a bit of cash for the brewery and/or landlord. Not a nice jesture of providing us with something to pass a bit of time and have a little fun whilst socialising as it used to be.
