I've just ever had to do my first ever return off amazon cant believe it lol. Story is i picked up a Western Digital Passport Essential Portable Hardrive, it arrived this morning and its meant to be plug and play so i plugged it in went to find the drivers then vista says it cant find them did i want to search online so i says yes and it still cant find them so i'm sitting there going what the f*** then i start goggling and that makes me cry lol. See what i found out is that this a pretty common problem its either to do with i need a power booster or i have some problem in my usb devices or something anyways i couldnt be arsed investing anymore time into so i got in touch with amazon and am sending it back lol. Anybody else have any similair hardrive problems?

I was recently in the market for a new ext HDD after some research I brought a NESO powered by hitachi 320GB ext HDD [looks great in stainless case], This is plug and play, no drivers needed, Like you said the Power issue is common for some laptops but your drive should power up if you use a twin usb lead.
