if you get court by the arcade staff, be prepared to be banned though just be carefull! you might think a machine is nearly full but nowadays arcade regulary top up machines. the only benefit is if one is nearly empty then you no not to play it.

Only recently found that my pub has had some refill keys for years, dating back to when the machines had token jackpots apparently.

The only thing I've been able to do is adjust the volume, and bring up the last win/bank - don't think many machines let you find out the hopper level these days.

You can also check the percentage a machine is set to on Electrocoins by turning the key and pressing the first hold button. It will show in the credits display.

quite right jaz nowadays the refill key will only work when the doors on the machine are open.

Kind of defeats the object of the key though doesn't it having to have another door open, they may as well just make it a switch inside the machine

the refill key was designed for quickness and noadays is pointless this as been caused by to many people getting hold of them and using them to there advantage. the way manufacturers could alter this is by different keys the refill key as always been the same one. also people might not be aware but when machines are turned on in a morning the refill key will work on most machines untill a credit has been played.

thanks for the replies, i have tried the key on a barcrest jackpoteers and all that happend was it locked the machine (all the lights came on and the only thing on the screen was a £0.00) and none of the buttons work, so basicly no use for them at all unless you have a machine, but even then theres not much point......................................

Hi markus2506

I have just bought a Gladiators machine (Maygay) from an amusement arcade (10p spin for £5 JP) and didn't get a refill key so I can't turn down the volume on it (it's extremely loud - I'm sure the neighbours are getting a bit p***ed off hearing it all the time).

It looks like the refill key would turn the volume down looking at these posts - is this correct ? I can't turn the volume down any other way (there's no switches or knobs or dials inside the machine to do this).

Also - I need to know exactly what the percentage is set at, and how to change this (cos' it seems to be playing really low - about 72%)

How can I purchase a refill key from you if it does any of this !!!??

Jay

don't need a refill key to turn down volume on this game. open the back door and on the back door is the main board its on there. should be white just turn left or right.

if its just the volume u can also access this in test mode, machines do not need a refill key to access the volume all though u can do it that way if u wish.

also on the programme card there should be a volume knob

Hi there

unfortunately I did as you said, but it has made no difference to the volume, in fact it made it louder at one point. :(

There are two knobs on the main board (one is a twiddle knob and the other a potentiometer) which I've turned both fully to the left (turning to the right causes the volume to be super-loud !!)

There are no test modes on this particular machine (i.e., no buttons on the inside to press which will go to a settings menu or whatever) so I am unable to change the volume or increase percentage that way.

Any more suggestions would be most welcome please - I apologise for me being a thick tw*t !!

Jay
