Hi,
Just bought my first fruit machine Treasure Island. The only problem i have is the machine seeems to be paying out a lot of money (bet u dont hear that very often). I put in a few pounds and it gave me a win of £10, then it said it owed me money, surely this cant be right (thought fruit machine where more inteligent then that). It has since been letting me on the board quickly and gave me a £60 win when there was only 25-30 in the machine. I dont have a manual so dont know what payout rating it is on only other thing i can think off is that the machine thinks it has more money in it than it actually has. Any idea how to solve this problem (if it is one).
Thanks,
Jamie

sounds like the rams been cleared to me. if this is the case then it does not matter how much money you have in the machine some games when having there ram cleared pay out straight away. when a game as its ram cleared it has no memory. and the game will be set with a percentage aim which it needs to obtain. and wont be showing a percentage untill you get som wins this is its acting percentage ive known games to be paying out upto 200% percent when new but it will settle down, barcrest is a well known one for doing this. the ram is normally cleared when changing the stakes and prizes key or if there is a fault with the battery back up. you could have a game 10 years old and if the ram is cleared the game thinks it new. hope this as been of some help to you

Cheers for the Advice. Will just have to keep playin it til it settles down then. Any idea if i can find out the perecntage. When i open the machine i can see a set of switches but i do not know the order which they need to be set up in order to change the payout percentage, because i dont have the manual.
Thanks,
Jamie

The Game is made by Bell Fruits. It is fairly old based on the Cops and robbers game. But i dont know how old the game is but it must b made just after cops and robbers. With the percentage key, i know there is about 16 switches on the main board in the machine with 14-16 being linked to change the percentage.
Hope that helps,

Just to clarify something:
The amount in the hopper (might actually be tubes in this case, can't remember) bears no relation to what a machine will or will not pay out.
You could refill a clubber which has just paid out the JP and try to see if it still wants to play. Similarly, you could dump the hopper and if it's happy it will pay the JP with a tenner in the pot.
Clubs after reset do not tend to flush out JP's, in fact usually takes about 2k through to pay it even if you don't collect a bean. However, I suggest you float it with a fair amount of coins, that way it will be able to pay what it should without causing you any problems.
