SECURITY SOFTWARE UPDATE FOR HORIZON MACHINES
Further to our security bulletins numbers 20 & 21 we have now created a software upgrade to defeat the current attacks on the Horizon cabinet. The new software is designed to increase protection of the machines coin handling protocol.
The new software is now being incorporated into current Horizon production, including Rainbow Riches, Indiana Jones Raiders of the Lost Ark and Smash the Cash. We will also create new software for all non-legacy games starting with the machines listed below.
When fitting this new software it is ESSENTIAL that a wiring modification is carried out at the same time to the payout port on the MPU5. This involves moving a wire from pin 7 to pin 1 on that port. An Information sheet, ID 69386, detailing this change can be obtained from the after sales team.
Fitting the new software will clear the hopper float, the Note Acceptor BNV key and reset the machine’s volume to the default level. Once the software has been updated these must be reset back to the site’s preferred values using the test routine.
We recommend that this updated software is fitted to the machines at the earliest opportunity. Copies of the latest versions can be downloaded from the Barcrest Group BBS at https://files.barcrestgroup.com or alternatively can be ordered through our after sales team on 0161 830 6549. We will update this bulletin as the new versions of software become available.

Thank f*** for that, the sooner they secure the bubble cabinets the better. There's some good fruits out by crest/red and these scum bags have been going around emptying them, but not only that!! Oh no the landlords then get rid of em for shitty DOND's!!!!
Can't happen quick enough, get your arses in gear suppliers.

As with everything they're attacking the noteys but as the update says a rewiring job is needed so it's not just a bog standard software update.
When will they build a fully secure notey??

Noticed Fair City were really on the ball with the horizon updates. Before Christmas i believe you were on this , as i noticed the volume thingy first, and you couyldnt turn it up/down
Better than some of the so called national companies.
