Ok so i sold a few things on ebay at start of the week the person who bought them come and collected them yesterday according to my ebay account it said the money had been received via pay pal, but having looked on my paypal account it seems they paypal have but a temporary hold on it when i click see details it says the following

What should I do now?
Payment Review has been completed and a temporary hold has been placed on this transaction.

Please post the item right away. We'll release the funds when one of the following occurs:

  • you receive positive feedback from the buyer
  • it's been 21 days since the payment date and you haven't received a dispute, claim, chargeback, or reversal on the transaction being held

Now i have never had thing before and from past expericance some people have taken a wile to leave feedback weeks sometimes,

What i'm asking it this a hold by paypal or the person who bought have i been done?

It's a hold placed by paypal to reduce fraud on ebay.

I have 27,000 feedback but decided to open a 2nd ebay business seperately so created another username and paypal account, my first 6 payments were held by paypal but now they're coming through as normal.

If the buyers don't leave feedback just drop them a message and explain the situation, if there's no joy with that yuo'll just have to wait the 21 days until it automatically clears (providing they don't open any disputes!)

Ask the buyer if he would be kind enough to leave you feedback. Once it is left, if the money isn't released within 48 hours, contact Paypal. Unfortunately, you are forced to accept Paypal for collected items, which I totally disagree with. I now don't allow collections for this reason, as it is too easy for chargebacks to be lodged, and unless they sign for the item upon collection, you don't have any proof to back you up. While many people slag Paypal off, I have to say, they generally do offer a good service, although customer services is utterly crap lots of the time.

Of course it is obvious, but you have to offer Paypal for collections, and if a buyer pays by Paypal, you can't refuse it. Obvious yes, allowed, not always! Refund a Paypal payment for a collection, your breaking ebays terms. It really sucks big style. Why on earth ebay are not pulled up over this is beyond me as it is a monopoly situation as ebay own Paypal

Usually within 48 hours, if it hasn't cleared by monday i'd give 'customer support' a call or email them.

The whole ebay/paypal system is a joke nowadays, i do appreciate they have to try and combat fraud which is a huge issue on ebay but targetting small sellers is just taking all the fun away from ebay for a lot of people.

You can find more info about the 21 day hold here:

Back to this again, our lass received payment after buyer left feedback.Listed and sold 2 more items and they show up on Paypal but no notification emails and no £ on ebay.
The Paypal icon alongside their names resembles an eggtimer.
Any ideas anyone, and should we post the items?
Any help most appreciated,
Thank you:)

Cheers for that. When I first started with Paypal I had the same issues. One buyer left poor positive feedback because he said he had paid 10 days before I posted the item.
Would you suggest posting anyway?
The items are of little value anyhow:bigeyes02:

Its up to you

its an echeque and will take upto 2 weeks to clear i believe

also i believe it means your bank details may need updating as it would otherwise have gone straight into your account
