I was loading up my xbox GTA IV game and it wouldn't load, took out my game and too my horror saw that there was a circle scratch on the cd, I learnt that the xbox does that if you turn it from horizontal to vertical or vise-versa the cd move's and hit's the laser thus scratching the cd.
So then I goggled How do I repair my scratched xbox games (or something like that lol) and found this site Xbox 360 Repair Fix: How to Remove Scratches on Xbox 360 Games
I followed the video and couldn't belive it actually worked, saved me about £10 - £20 getting it repaired by a manufactor. Was a bit messy but it does really work, just wondering has anyone eles repaired it this messy way?

The Gamestation in Barnsley seem to charge what they feel...i had four discs buffed for a cost of £2.99...maybe because i was a frequent customer.

If you install the games on NXE you dont ever need to worry about scratched discs.
Infact if you have a broken game that buffing wont fix, just rent the game out, install it and use your broken disc to play it as the xbox just verifies that you have the disc for the selcted game in the drive. it literally just spins for a second then stops.

On that note, I remember when I snapped a Music CD....I contacted the lable (CBS) and they gave me an address to send it to. P&P and £2 they replaced it.

Most of you are probably far too young to remember this..when CD's were first invented.
Remember watching it on 'Tommorows World' and it was going to revoultionise(spelling) the music world...these wierd silver looking discs were unscratchable and unbreakable..allegedly.

At the sample rate that music was read at it was virtually true but as they squeezed more and more data onto the disc, disc integrity became more important...i never actually tried the jam test though...a few Cd's had "love juice" fingerprints when the music ran out mid session...usually at second base+1...or +2....Most of you are probably far too young to remember this..when CD's were first invented.

go to gamestation for a laugh to see how much trade in value i'd get
quote of what tom behind the till said "erm yes this gta san andreas, its an old game & its in a funny wrapping with sony logos on it, it must be fake, but il give you £6 on the sly but dont tell no-one"
LOL, i never went back to gamestation after that for another 2 years till i learned they could reapir scracthed games

It's not shit, its a gyroscopic effect. If you ever bought one new there is a sticker on the front, warning you not to turn it when it's spinning.
