I just bought a Maygay Club Monopoly machine and already it has a problem can anyone help. The machine tends to boot up but after a spin or two the error message "2.4 fault reel 4" appears, I have removed reel 4 and cleaned the sensor and checked the connector which all seem fine.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers Mick

does the reel look as though its moving normal

e.g. does it spin at the same speeds or catch or not stop properly

if its non of them then the reel motor has probably had it!!

"does the reel look as though its moving normal" Yes
"does it spin at the same speeds" Yes "or catch" Doesn't appear to be catching "or not stop properly" Reels begin to spin but stop within a second.

it maybe a knackerd reel sensor or a problem with the reel control section on the motherboard which i doubt it replace able and the reel sensor can be done no problem

Thanks for the replies Cardie1.
Latest info on problem, I believe the sensor is working as a red LED lights when it passes through. I also tried swapping reel sensors around (3 & 4) yet it still gave the same error message.

Try swapping the reels (3-4) see if the error changes to reel 3, if it does id say the motor is on its way out

must be your wiring somewhere.

make sure all the wires that are in the connector that attaches to the reel and the wire on the actual reel are pushed in correctly.

they may all look ok but but inside the wire only a few strands may be connecting.

just switch the machine off and get a small terminal srewdriver and push them all in as much as you can without cutting the wires.

Yes the lights on the reels are working, will try pushing all the wires in the terminals tonight.

It appears i need a new board either m1a or m1b does anybody know where i can locate a working board, or somebody who can find the fault and repair it.
Failing that anybody want to buy the machine, its based in Halifax.

I have given up on getting the machine to work so it is now for sale if anyone is interested. The machine is being sold as spares or repair as it is not working. It has 2 faults 1 is the coin mech but that is easy to source, the second is a 2.4 Reel 4 error which according to the manual is a optic problem.
The M1A board may be ok as the machine will work for a couple of goes before going to error.
Machine is in Halifax, West Yorkshire and am open to offers (sensible please). Could do with getting rid as soon as poss so i can buy a machine that works.
May be able to deliver for an agreed delivery fee.

Regards
Mick
