Well, it depends on what you are looking for and how much you are willing to spend. If you have a wide portfolio of eproms to burn and if you are looking for a quality one, i would say go for xeltek's superpro programmers. But if you are looking for something cheap and if you are going to use it for only one or two different eproms, than why you should spend that much money, go check ebay and find a custom made simple programmer which should cost between $50 to $150. But the key point here, whatever brand you are planning to buy, double check the device support list of that programmer. I am pretty sure all the brands have those kinds of searching tools like bp micro, xeltek or data i/o have. The reason i offered you to get xeltek is it is good quality and way too cheaper than the other huge brands. if you want, you can check their device support thru this link:

Xeltek Device Support Search for Superpro Universal Device Programmers

Hope it helps you...

It is even possible to burn a ripped rom?
I guess that u have to make some encryption before u can burn it, or wil an mpu4 (for instance) read the rom anyway even without any encryption?

greetings,
rob
