enter design mode, right mouse click on the layout , properties, click on the Bitmap box, browse, select image you want, apply. save layout. Make sure the jpg is resized to the layout size. I.E 540 depth for 800x600 or 900 depth for 1280x1024.

Don't all images have to be bitmaps? Pretty sure I tried a jpeg with no joy, had to save it again as .bmp.

yeah as spa said has to be a BMP....been so long since i did a layout.

Actually PNG would be very helpful because we will be able to create transparent images straight from Photoshop.
