Hey guys,

Well two weeks ago I became the proud owner of a Barcrest "Road Hog"

It's quite fun to play, I mainly wanted one to mess about with and use as a big piggy bank.

Any comments/advice? I wont be offended =0)

I do have a few issues with it, but the main two things really are...

  • How do I set/view the percentage payout?
  • The jackpot (or any payout over £3) is meant to be in tokens but it was meant to have been changed to pay out money - not sure if I've done something but it keeps wanting to pay out tokens
Anybody know how I fix those? I've got some instructions but they make little sense to me.

Does the % payout gets changed on the MPU4 unit itself? With the switches by the orange section?

I think you might need a different rom in it to pay out all cash.

But, there might be a switch for token/cash payout, have a look in the back and see if there is one. When I had my Sunset Boulevard, also mpu4 it had a little black switch, token or cash. Didn't matter what it was set too, it was always cash :)

hi and welcome to fruit emu

1, you can set the percentage by changing the switches on bank 1 of the dip switch setting on the main mpu4 there are 2 banks of 8 white switches its bank1 switches 1 to 4 :) to view you put the machine into test mode by pressing a lil black button near the top of the inside of the machine i think its test 6 or 7 u want. ;)

2, the only way u can change the token situation is really simple by modifying the token payoutslide to payout 20p pieces ;) but it means you'll have to top up on a regular basis in 20p's ;)

there was an eprom available to make the machine an all cash payout machine. however i don't have any eproms left now :(

hope this helps m8 ;)

To view the current percentage payout simply open the back door and let it boot up. The number on the 7 seg display is the current target percentage. You can probably change the %age with the last 4 dip switches on bank 2.

thanks for the advice but at the minute I've got it stuck after jackpotting it...

it calls for the manager after it realises there's no tokens coming out (counted from £6 down to £4)... usually by pressing loads of buttons and opening doors in a random order clears it - but since taking those pics earlier I've not been able to stop the alarm going off when I switch it on. Keeps saying call manager :(

any ideas? when I open the door the alarm stops but if I try the TEST button the alarm sounds again

seems like you need to be a magician to figure these things out!

open the back door and where the token tube is, there is a senser, move the sense from the slot within the tube. this will then think that there is tokens in the tube ;)

its not worth bending m8 if it snaps he'll then require a new senser. my way was best ;)
