Hi All,

I am new to this forum so sorry if this topic has been covered before. I have a Jolly Roger £25 Jackpot fruit machine with a note reader fitted. It has been working fine until recently. Now when I switch it on it displays ALM ERROR 42 on the display and a very LOUD alarm sounds. I turn it off straight away. Will this alarm stop or just continue and wake up all my neighbours? Also what does the ALM code mean and how can I remedy it? I did switch it on the other day and it worked fine, but that was a one off. Now it's showing the error again.

Any help and advice would be greatly welcomed.

Sure it's just RAM clear? That's what it is on the Emulator. Try leaving it a bit. It works like that on the ol' Emu

yeah error 42 is cleared memory

the alarm will sound for maybe 5-10 seconds and then it will ask for you to set the time and date.

do this and then once the machine has powered up put a coin in,this should stop the alarm next time you switch it on.

you may have to set your volume and hopper level again.

Thank you for the info. That seemed to work but I have also had Error 48 come up which is an On/Off alarm I believe? Would this alarm also stop after 5 seconds? Also what is the normal cause of this? Is it an expensive problem raising it's ugly head?

error 48 is the on / off alarm which is usually caused when the machine is switched off with credit or money in the bank.

you may have a faulty power supply which may be causing the machine to reset.

on off alarm usually takes around 15 seconds of audible noise and then 15 seconds of the error being displayed on the display,then it will power up as normal.

It's just so loud I turn it straight off again rather than annoy the neighibours. Maybe I'll let it go and see what happens.

Hi guys... are you talking about the Jolly Roger physically? or an emulated version? If it's an emulated version, can i ask where I can get it from? I used to know a couple of pubs with this machine and it's my all-time favorite I think, but they don't have it anymore :-/

Will be the actual machine, and NOT an emulated version.

I have also taken a quick look in the downloads section here, and as far as I can tell, it has NOT been emulated yet.

If you continuously get this message even after letting it clear and playing the machine you may find the battery needs replacing.
