I'm looking to buy 2 x Dell 2GB PC2-5300 555MHZ DDR2 RAM but the only ones I'm finding on E bay are Dell 2GB PC2-5300 667MHZ DDR2 RAM

Are these compatible with the Dell Inspiron 530 even although they are 667MHZ rather than the 555MHZ that they currently have installed? The 555MHZ ones are 1GB by the way.

Thanks in advance for any info you can give me.

Yes we did my good man. And injured David Weir in the process which is unfortunate as he only gets paid per play but his old age pension should cover the shortfall.

Hail Hail

A loss at Fiorentina then 2 draws in the league and we're all square. 3 in a row.

Come on guys dont get ahead urselfs, and before the league's decided lets reflect on the season, oh wait u's havent had one. Ok u have beat us twice at parkhead, but only just it should be said and against lets face it a tired and depleted team, then theres the awesome achievement no finals lets all "hail hail" to tht. But on the brightside under the fine stewardship of strachan it's only going one way.

Richy, the dimms are DDR2 PC2-5300 DDR2-555 that's what is on them mate.

The PC is a Dell Inspiron 530, do you reckon the motherboard is ok to use the 667MHZ dimms?

Nothing to do with winning the league just the fact your team got pumped today that makes me smile.

i am a pc engineer & have never heard of 555mhz memory.
Normally if you use 667 it will down grade itself to 533.
Hope this helps.

I'm prob wrong but assuming it is a 533 dimm would the motherboard be able to use a 667 dimm ?

Thanks BTW for your replies.

yes i have looked & done some research on google & all i have found is PC PC2-5300 is 667mhz.
The best thing you could do is ask the seller if it is 667.

the memory will underclock and run at the correct speed if its too fast,i havnt seen 555 memory either there isnt a 555 bus speed on any motherboard ive worked on, tho dell usually get there own motherboards made for them diffrently so if it breaks you would have to return it to them so it wouldnt suprise me.
