Barcrest's Apache & (the) Big chief.I am sure its mpu4 tech but you never .I do recall a larger than normal lcd screen that hosted a number of features and lines similar to the Ace games of the same era.

I just tried both sets of Roms for both machines, but neither of them work in MFME for some reason.
It looks like they are either bad sets, or they are not MPU4/MPU3.
It would be nice to know what tech they are though. I thought Barcrest only used MPU3/4/5

Apache has been emulated already but only runs on MFME in test mode. Runs fine on I think it was v6.5. The one pre to MFME. You are on about the £25JP EMPIRE machine yes, as I didn't know BARCREST had one. Obviously the roms can't be held by anyone due to EMPIRE's wishes.

I was talking about the Barcrest version, its the predecessor to Big chief.Housed in the same cabinet as Classic Adders and Ladders, Hyper viper , ect.I'm sure the original chip was £4.80 but later converted to the then new £6 token jp.
I definetely had a flyer for Apache From Barcrest, i've been looking for it all day, i'll dig deeper and see what i can find.

I didn't know Barcrest made a version of Apache either until I found the roms on Emuchina.
Nothing at all comes up on the Alpha Display when loaded, so I am not sure if it has anything to do with the CHR.
Here are the roms anyway. See if you can get them working.
These are the Barcrest roms for Apache and not the Empire ones.
