anybody rember an old fm called crack the nut? i dont rember who made it but i realy enjoyed playing it and wondered if it has been emulated? i rember playing it around 89 in clacton on sea.

i can remember alot of machines but this one is tricky the name of the machine and where u play it could be an old rebuild machine as such pcp,jds a small fruit machine company or like the payout tetris machine which was Ace+BWB i will see what i can dig out :?

i played it in the vally farm holiday park and in 2 amusements on the promenade in clacton. there was allways someone playing them and they were still there in 95! i dont rember much on the layout execpt there was a monkey on the left hand side and had a sort of jungel theme.

Crack the Nut is a 2p clone of Barcrest Smash and Grab (also commonly referred to as Grab The Bank). Crack the Nut refers to the name of the trail on the bottom glass, the machine is actually called Tuppenny Cracker.

The monkey you refer to is a gorilla head. Three gorillas for JP.

From memory JP is not available from the gamble trail unlike the Barcrest 10p cousins but only from the three heads, I think the gamble trail is 50p short.

Should be MPU4 and therefore emulatable, of course this depends on availability of roms (and artwork for a DX).

They are very rare now but as you rightly say were very popular. One of the most popular 2p machines of its era.
