I think you are all missing the post guy's.
This is a recient machine thats also found on modern pub skill machines, along with DOND etc.....
Some guy in a dickie bow has 90 balls (yes 90) bumping around and you have a card...you accept or don't accept a ball and theres hidden bonuses in there in the taste of if 'star' balls that give extra time etc to achieve a £60 JP....
We arn't talking a 1-90 simple BBC Program............just a simple Windows One lol

If it's the one i'm thinking of it's called Skill Ball Bingo(it is on the Itbox anyway). Very addictive. Never managed to get more than six quid out of it though(two lines).

Hi
I was not bad at it i must admit i did have a set of machine Code tools that helped with some routines, and some other stuff like that. But the main code was BASIC, the bits the selected the numbers in a random order and did the on screen display of the numbers called was basic, the bit that displayed the large number called was one of the M/C routines.

You know they run off a pc

Anyway AFAIK if the system has been left for any period of time it has to "phone home" to Nova for updates or it simply wont function

Hi
The random number bit was easy the hard bit is getting 90 of them from 1 to 90 but only generated once, as the RNG can be set to produce a random nos only between 1 to 90 but thats what it does produces nos between 1 and 90, the thing could produce some thing like this 1 1 20 90 90 33 44 33 55 ect so you have to make the code pick only one of each number in a random order that is the trickyer part.

Create an array from 1 - 90. Then randomize number, when that number is picked it assigns it the number of the order to call them off. If a number has already been assigned a point of order then re-randomize. Once you're finished to have all 90 numbers randomize and can call them off in order. You could even have the program randomizing the numbers for next game whilst playing the first. Once the program gets to the end and has only a few numbers left to assign the computer will keep randomizing until it picks one of the few remaining unassigned numbers. This should take only a few seconds on a 1Ghz processor.
The same process can be used to make a random number generator for random fruit machines. Only randomizing from 1 - 512,000 as opposed to 1 - 90. It would be advisable to store the assigned numbers in a text file though. It could take a few minutes to randomize them the first time with that many numbers to do.
