Hello fella's hows tricks?,
Does anyone remember a fruitie that was about in the early 90's i think that was 20p a go until you got a win then it went up a cash board and played at 10p a go with the option to collect a feature the lowest one i can remember was called cherry surprise? Also i am sure it was the first fruitie i ever saw that had 5 winlines and i thought this was dead groovy! Me dad used to take me in the local arcade and played this machine while i watched him win thousands of pounds out of it (probably about £20 quid in tokens) but he always gave me 50p so as not to tell me ma where we had been!!! Actually i blame him for my obsession with fruities cos he used to take me when i was on holiday in Butlins pwhelli when i was about 7 years of age...he only gave me 10p in those days tho!!!!

Was it BFM's POWER-LINES by any chance? You got on the trail when you got a win. The higher the win, the further up the trail you started. Then you could press start at the cost of one position on the trail, in the hope of landing a win combination and adding back to the trail, edging ever closer to the top position.
Heres a pic....

I only ever saw 'Power-Lines' in one arcade and as mentioned earlier, it was one of the first 20p play machines I ever played. I'm positive it was still only £4 Jackpot. The cashpot being just £2.00 and not £2.40 seem to be good evidence.
The very first 20p play machine I played was 'A Fistful of Money' by ACE. Do you remember this one? 5 reels, 3 seperate winlines made up from positions spreading across all 5 reels. Numbers on the middle 3 reels were added to the relevent feature column and you could collect the highest feature with all 3 sections against it lit. You could also try to add numbers to improve the lit columns but it wasn't guaranteed to hold. The 'HOLD POT' feature has to be nominated as 'All Time Worst Fruit Machine Feature' as when collected, you held as many reels as you liked, and pressed start in the hope that you got a win. You could do this once for each hold in the hold-pot. All the times I collected this feature, I can honestly say, I never won over a pound.
