Sorry I am a little green here. I'm not certain if what I need are 20p old or grooved coins. It's for a MayGay Monopoly (Green), M1A 6pound machine. I don't think the coin mech is working properly anyway as someone cut the line and installed a switch to give credits, but I want to revert the machine back to coins and hide the credit switch.
How do I determine from visual inspection, which coins the mech is meant for? There were a couple of grooved coins loose in the front cabinet, but I didn't know if that meant these were the ones, or if someone tried to jam them in the machine and the operator put them aside.
Hopefully that's enough info to help identify the type of token needed.
I am wondering where best to get info to get the ME126TS Mars coin mech and token handling system working again. Are there instructions / schematics for these units available anywhere?
I did get the game manual, but it would be helpful to find a M1A technical service manual and/or schematics for my new baby as I am also having an intermittent reset problem.
I am checking voltages, connectors and solder joints first over the next couple days as this seems the likely culprit (unless anyone has any other suggestions). Based on the salt creep I have found, it's likely this machien came from the seaside.

intermittent resets are normally caused by a duff power supply unit.
brown tube is 20p cash
purple tube is £1 cash
clear tube is 20p tokens.
to place the credit button inside the machine just disconnect the wiring button and rewire it back again with the button inside the machine.
your machine will be on the 20p token for the jackpot (standard tokens worldwide)
i hope this answers all your questions

thank you!
Yes the credit button is no problem, I do have the electronics background from fixing pinball machines. I was wondering more about the difference betweent he two coin mech connectors supplied (one is hooked to the Mars coin mech, the other left dangling (but that's where the external credit button was wired).
I haven't gotten to testing the voltages yet, but I will.
Are these the non-grooved 20p or the grooved?
Can I get the machine to only play (accept / payout) 20p tokens and foregoe the cash?
Any idea if the coin mech and tubes can be adjusted to accept / pay other sized tokens?
Thank you again for all your help. Invaluable!

This is a good question, once I know what type I need, I am not certain what would be a standard fill for the machine so that it is playable without reloading every 15 minutes. 500 to 1000??

You could take out the, I want to say bezzle, the metal bit where the tokens go in so it takes all sorts of grooved ones...

That may explain, the coin slots (where you put the coins in the machine) are big and wide, they have no restrictions on them. is that what you are referring to? If so, am I right in assuming that I can use the flat ones?
Excuse my ignorance because we don't use any physical means like grooves for coin security here in North America.
Our electronic coin mechs, also from Mars, use coin weight and magnetism to determine a match (in fact most are reprogrammable by just inserting a sample coin into a "sample" area of the coin mech. So it woudl be helpful to me to understand how the coin mech works so that I can convert it to say pachislo tokens which are easier for me to obtain.
Thank you!

any 20p tokens should work as long as the coin mech is able to accept tokens.
any mech can be coverted to take tokens.
the groove on the tokens is only used by certain companies who didnt want their tokens used in other peoples equipment.if the slots where the money and tokens are inserted are the same then your machine will accept any 20p tokens.
to fill the token tube you would need about 300-400 tokens.
