"Datapack"

Hi all, could someone please tell me what a "Datapack" actually does when is installed in a fruit machine, many thanks all.

The Datapack collects the RS232 information from the dataport (BACTA port) of the machine - principally cash in, cash out, VTP, door transitions, machine ID and float levels etc etc.

There are various lumps of back-end software that make use of this information. Here's the latest incarnation of the spec ...

its a device that the industry said could not universaly be created.. and it was.

the amount of times my local machnie was emptied but the operator never used the datapak key to reset it.. stupid cow.
