I can't say for sure, but I would expect it to be a RAM error
On a serious note, if the RAM has become corrupted / cleared, it's most likely (in my opinion) down to a knackered internal battery. The machine relies on this battery to keep the RAM information (much like a CMOS battery in a PC is required to hold all of your BIOS settings). If this battery has expired, it'll wipe the RAM, and this will need replacing or the machine will always play as though it's never had a coin in it - probably as flat as hell.

Yellow bar - Red Seven - Red Seven on the old low tech red hot rolls and superstreaks in the local bingo halls as well as the same reals on the likes of Hot Rod, Andy Capp etc.....
Ahhhhhhhh....Those were the days

On older machines, yes. On more recent machines, it's hard to say. A club machine these days will typically play apallingly from a reset.
