#268278 Project Amber Ideas Thread

Posted by letmein on 05 May 2014 - 09:29 PM in Project Amber

May I express my most sincere thanks to all the administrators, layout creators, supporters etc. for all the hard work and endless hours it must take to create the excellent emulations on the site.

Since  stumbling upon " Fruit Emu" over a year ago I have managed to wean myself off a SERIOUS gambling addiction. It was hard, but with the help of FME I've now managed to stay clean for six months. (Yes that's right I said CLEAN). The monkey is finally off my back. Thanks, Thanks, Thanks.

The only thing I cant manage to get to work is AMBER, which is a pity because the fruity's look awesome. keep getting errors while extracting the download. any thoughts?

Sorry Vectra I don't understand, I'm getting on a bit (51) not very technical, although I did get a diploma in programming back in the early 90s. not much call for Pascal today. LOL

Yes Vectra I have tried to run as administrator, get the usual warning sign "program wants to blah blah your computer settings" I allow that, but still get the run-time error 438 object doesn't support this property or method.

Does anyone know if any of the Electrocoin machines will EVER be emulated?

LABYRINTH, PYRAMID, SPHYNX?

Nice memories of a miss spent youth.

#269449 Has it been emulated?

Posted by letmein on 15 May 2014 - 09:02 PM in Any Topic Chat

Hello everybody, been trying to get Amber to install for ages without success. I keep getting the Run-time error "438 object doesn't support this property or method".

Now I've noticed the Amber installer has been removed from the emulator download page, is this because of problems (or is it just me being a bit of a thickie?).

I'd love to play Amber games, but I am a real novice.

Yes I know Vectra has a tutorial on emulators, but couldn't find anything to solve the run-time error.

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

#269572 download restriction

Posted by letmein on 18 May 2014 - 02:00 PM in General FME Discussion

just tried to download a JPM game, but was told I'd exceeded my daily download limit, but I hadn't downloaded anything.

Any reason for this, maybe you have to donate something after a while?

#269578 download restriction

Posted by letmein on 18 May 2014 - 02:59 PM in General FME Discussion

I downloaded Amber yesterday (first time I've managed to successfully), but after trying to download the smaller "mirror file" I got the daily limit page.

PS tried again today, (Same result)?

Any thoughts

I'm very rarely home in the day, Royal mail ALWAYS leave a card, and I can pick my delivery up from the local yard. However Yodel just throw the parcels over the back fence. I have never received an undamaged package them.

Moral is, you get what you pay for.

#272264 Any gambling success stories online or on land

Posted by letmein on 20 July 2014 - 10:50 PM in Any Topic Chat

Went to the "High Tide" amusement arcade in Porthcawl S. Wales yesterday, first time I've gambled in many months.

Its a  typical seafront arcade £5 jackpot/ 10p play, I went through a £100 in under half an hour, the machines claim 72-92% pay-out, however the biggest win I had was just £3, NOT EVEN ONE £5 jackpot, must be some sort of record, "unless YOU know different?".

Lesson learned, non gambler again!

Remember the name, Its one to avoid.!!

#272312 Any gambling success stories online or on land

No that's the thing I found unbelievable, ALL the machines I played WERE Hi Tec, e.g.  Monopoly, DOND (all variants), Vamp it up, etc.

Only half the machines were cash pay-out, the others were ticket payers, you know, a million tickets for a gonk.

Oh yeah the ticket payers were a massive 35% average.

Totally agree with Vectra, the place was full of  miserable faces and  kids asking for more and more money to feed the machines.

When I was a kid in the late 70s you could spend hours in there for just a couple of quid, ok so money went further then, but these days it just felt as if I'd been mugged.

Thank god, no thank you guys for Fruit Emu, keeps me sane. M
