The thing I remember most about the 'golden era' of fruit machines and I'm talking about the years I played, 1987 - 1998 - is that when you got a machine streaking it was an exciting experience, you just knew you were in for a load of tokens and maybe a little cash as well depending on how the machine streaked, some machines paid the streak over a longer period eg Barcrest Blue Moon, Cloud 999 etc and it was a fairly drawn out streak while other games like Project Coin's 777 Heaven was over fairly quickly.

That was a crafty way to make the streak less as your paying for all those credits during the streak lol

My favourite machine streak has to be BFM Party Time, it's just so out the blue and wham jackpot, the machine goes mental and the next credit it does the same again, 4 or 5 times in a row, it's over in a couple of minutes but it's an experience.

I loved that too, I found that emptier pretty early on that one which was just as well as it was chipped out pretty quickly  lol even if it was by accident.  would love a ROM set where the cheat still works   :)

They never gonna come back wayne123,  the reason the slots were so good back then is mainly the win ratio was good,  now its just  shocking in comparison.

What was once a vibrant industry with many different styles of games has become one-dimensional and over-run with terrible games providers who don't really understand or care about the maths (especially on the random games) - not mentioning any names here.

I 100% agree, there is probably more math calculation in my SIMs than some commercial games which is just crap really, they should do more math and make them work better, but like you say some to not care about how it plays.

My pet hate on random games is a random decision shown to the player that isn't random or is but it don't match the true odds displayed, if you work the math out correctly you can make it true instead of all the " bending it a little"

I accept some games will need to modify the perspective it a bit to get it to fit the profile but on a standard  pick me with only set values it should just be true picking FFS :)

Vortex! I designed a game when the same name back at Mazooma - didn't go anywhere. There's a funny thing about space themes in gaming; "putting your money in a black hole". Same as games that are overly green......they never seemed to be popular.

Apart from money mad martians  then ;)

makes no diffrence if coins are backing or not.

Back in the olden days there would have been some merit in that if its "backing" its was a potential good sign but as shaun says  these days  no not at all.

Since operators fill them mid week, when they go empty and on their "collection days" as well as things like note acceptors  it means nothing.

Back in the day before notes,  then  it could give you a little nod to a potential winner if you knew more history eg  it hadnt been filled no large wins and how long its been backing and the type of game etc, but was still risky to some degree.

On an offtopic question when you played with tokens did the machine play on a different cycle/% cause again never really got any return on token play

Many machines did have token vs cash reflexes  as been discussed on here somewhere. So if you put a lot of tokens in it would lessen the cash wins and sway towards token wins etc.

So if you wanted to put some anti force in you could make the compensators think a win has been collected even though it hasn't or part of a win and then you would never be able to force it as the differential wouldn't get high enough. Is this correct? Have machines been programmed like this? All very interesting.

Not really, anti force code normally will monitor certain variables, if forcing is detected then it would set a flag, this flag would be removed only if certain conditions were met,  1  either you take some smaller wins for it to remove the anti force flag and would resume normal play or 2 it would remove the flag automatically when a certain pre determined level is reached.  The point is that 2 is normally set so high its likely to take so long to resume normal enhanced play that the player doing the forcing has either run out of money, has resulted in being forced to take wins for fear of running out of money  or have played so many games that by the time they force it to streak mode to recover all the % due it will have eaten a big chunk of its operational %  eg  profit  ( basic principle of the more games you play the more the machine should have made = the harder it is to show a profit )

Compensated games can work so many different ways, and if you play them enough you normally get a feel for each manufacturer or coder. Its the ones that have anti force code in that can be very nasty lol.

However when you learn what triggers the block and how to take it off you could make a fortune on it, of course Im not talking about more recent times.

#304991 problems with cloning T7 hard drive

Posted by fruitman69 on 15 June 2017 - 12:53 PM in Any Topic Chat

Some good info there nails, people just don't realize how bad doing updates on these T7's can be.

People just assume they can update there executive to anything newer, but that isn't the case and hasn't been for a long time.

People with a T7 privately need to know what they can update to and in what order don't just jump into updating stuff willie nillie !  Tomasone  yes i mean you lol

#304815 Demo Upload and an Apology

T7's can get really upset if you start switching the USB ports, your always supposed to keep them in the same ones even when changing PC to a replacement.

Like others have said if you continue to mess with it your gonna run into trouble sooner or later and as a private owner SG wont help you one bit if you totally screw it up, and i doubt the people you bought it from would either if they knew how much messing about with it your doing......

There's 4 on the top of the pc isn't there? A bit hidden to be fair

Yes spa there is ones on the top, for the updates etc....I was a bit reluctant to mention it really  lol

If you have pretty much all the bpaks, executives and themes etc  how do you know you not already got it?  Have you tried them?

Also unless you have more than 9 paid games whats the point?

#303893 Id Like to buy a triple 777 machine

Posted by fruitman69 on 19 May 2017 - 02:51 PM in Any Topic Chat

Hi all, finally got to speak to him today,  there is good and bad news, first my original post wasn't quite right with the game list, but nearly, the good first......

This is the list of licensed games.

RR Freespins
RR Fields of gold
RR Pots of Gold
Money Mad Martians
Money Mad Mushrooms
Big cheese
Action Bank
Rocky freespins
Super Repeater
Thai Flower
New York New York
Mummy Money

It was also MPU6  not  MPU5 as many cheaper ones are and was immaculate with the 40 game menu.

But the bad news that I didn't even find out until today is that its no longer in his possession, he sold it just before he went on holiday a few weeks ago and that is how he went on holiday.

Not that its relevant now but for those wanting to know  he had a few go to see it and one person bought it on the spot for £4,200 cash.

So sorry guys, its gone, I don't think anyone was really serious about getting it on here anyway at that price as when i posted about it originally everyone said it was over priced and there was no interest at all.

I still maintain it was worth it for the games that were on it and being MPU6 no matter anyone says.

#303675 Ouch! Toothache

Posted by fruitman69 on 15 May 2017 - 02:32 PM in Any Topic Chat

From my own experience i would never have a root canal ever, or recommend one after most people i know have had issues with them, very expensive, ages in the chair and can often not work fully plus can still be very painful after and possible have to have it out anyway!

At 47 im happy to lose the tooth if its beyond a filling, sod trying to keep it via root canal. Teeth cant hurt when they gone.

Just my 2 pence worth.

#303646 Failed Test Machine

Posted by fruitman69 on 14 May 2017 - 04:54 PM in Any Topic Chat

Generally its the operators that use them,

Gala, mecca, larger arcades, casinos etc all use them and can be linked to a central local PC or even to a remote setup at say head office.

The playsafe system for example has been around decades and can remotely access all sorts of machine data / events, door entry, cash box totals ( coin breakdown ) float level, alarm status etc etc the list goes on.

The datapak itself can either be wifi or hard wired to the system via wall socket.

If you look at the MFME diag datapak  you will see its chucking data to it constantly, on every action, even on non protocol ROMS

#303624 Failed Test Machine

Posted by fruitman69 on 14 May 2017 - 12:38 PM in Any Topic Chat

They are sited in various locations, and has to meet various criteria to not "fail test"

Its a bit stupid in some ways as we had games that were really popular but still failed test due to them not performing well elsewhere.

Every manu has there own criteria of whats considered a failed test or not, sometimes they will tweek the software mid test as well and collect all the data via datapaks, before making a decision.

Some of the criteria will be VTP compared to similar games rather than actual profit and % payout etc.

They also have to be sited for a while as any new game would have higher than normal VTP for the first weeks while its "new" players generally will try something new to start with so the first few weeks are not a accurate assessment.

There is more to it but hopefully thats answered a few of your questions.

No RR pots of gold?

I think a T777 machine without Rainbow Riches is sacriledge!

Problem is, try getting hold of a licence from Barcrest, almost impossible :(

To both, it did have a rainbow riches on it with the wells, pots etc but cant remember which one, apparently hes on hols in america till next week so thats why i couldnt get hold of him. As soon as hes back i will get the exact game list.

#303487 Id Like to buy a triple 777 machine

Posted by fruitman69 on 11 May 2017 - 10:22 AM in Any Topic Chat

Not true, the machine in question isnt connected to the net, hasnt been for well over a year and all 12 games are still fully licensed. Pay monthly games only apply to the ones that were installed on that, games that were installed pre those are no expiry date.

And i think you will find that £4k for a T7 on MPU6 with 12 games is still a good price.
