Hello.

I met up with some old pals from when I was at school and some had old photo's of us at a snooker hall we used to go to when we were 18 or so.

1 of the photos had me and an ex girlfriend by a fruit machine called Sweepstake and next to that machine was the one I cant remember the name of. My old mates tried to recall the name as we all played fruities back then but none of us remember the name.

It was a £100 jackpot machine and I think it had something to do with oasis and some of the reels had palm trees on it and you could gamble 1-1/2 2, 3 ,4 ,6 and 12 times the winning stake I think.

I hope somebody could help me find the name of this machine and if it's been emulated somewhere.

Vince.

I think it was a Barcrest machine as I am sure that was all the club had was from Barcrest.

Like I said the reels had I think palm trees, mellons and grapes. The palm trees were for a feature and I am not sure if you had to get them in a line or 3 in the window to win the feature if you know what I mean.

The Dat Man thanks for the pic but I don't think it's that one.

I remember I had about £15/16 win and the ex said take it and she annoyed with me cos I was losing my wages and I said I would gamble a few quid and she said no and went to collect it but hid the gamble button on the X's 6 and I was having a go at her then the machine payed luckyily for her. Maybe I have got palm tree's in my mind for whatever reason but thanks for trying.

We'll get there in the end, can you remember if the machine had any particular features or trails. I would say it's,Deffo barcrest with purple plums oranges cherries etc on win lines. Like club vegas type machine

I cant remember what features it had. I started playing this machine and Sweepstake when I went to my local conservative club in 1986 and the last time I played it was 1988/89. I know there was a screen where you can gamble your win and/or save some of it,  also the times 1-1/2, 2,3,4,6,and 12. Not sure of where the digital screen was for credits, wins and telling you what you have won.

Thanks for trying to help me with this.

Looking at 1986 maybe ask at our sister site the mecca as the guys over there are into this era of machine.

vectra666 I can't get access to the mecca site as it says I need 100 or more posts.

Is there anywhere I can look online for photo's of fruit machines from the 1985 to 1990 so I can be sure what one it is.

Cheers to you all for taking the time to help me.

I had a meet up with some of the mates who used to go to the club at the time I did and we bought some old photo's to show but none were of the machine I am after but a few of the machine next to it called Club Sweepstake.

I am quite sure it was a Barcrest brand as I think that was all that club had in it.

Thanks again for taking the time to help me find it.

Can you get your mate to upload the photo you mentioned at the beginning to say,Facebook or better still upload it to here as it may have part of the machine in question for easier identifcation.
