Been pissing about with quotes on cars for a while now and the cheapest ive got is a Vauxhall Nova SR 1.3 and I got a quote of £910
Fully Comp
No Excess at all
I set it out so that I could have 1 years NCD because ive got 1 years ncd from my bike. Ive read on the internet that eCar (who gacve me this quote) do accept bike NCD onto a car policy.
I did this on Compare the market, so I tried it on the eCar website and it came back at £8230.....?
I put my proper date of birth in but it still accepted 1 years no claims (which isnt possible with my date of birth)
How do they expect to you to tell them you have NCD if you can select were you got it from or am I missing somthing?

Erm.. My Vee-Dub is older than you!!!! Insurance companies don't like new, young drivers and offer stupid rates, as you've found out. I read somewhere you can get cheaper rates if you have a 'Black Box' fitted in the car. It knows when and how the accident happens. BIG BROTHER!!! If you're OK with that ( I wouldn't) then that might be an alternative.
Anyhow good luck.

Have heard that the co-operative Bank and Liverpool Victoria tend to be better with younger drivers if you want to give those two a try?

Definately try Liverpool Victoria. I used to have my Evo insured with them, and they were not only the cheapest, but they were extremely helpful when I wrote it off in a freak storm.

They won't touch first time drivers.

So what do I do? Can't just never drive lol, will need it for a job! I live far away and luckily my postcode knocks quite a bit off insurance, im just not willing to pay that must, even with the 'black boxes' prices rarely drop £300 more than the orginal quoteThey won't touch first time drivers.

If you know anyone that is older, has no claims and might realistically drive your car from time to time, adding them to your insurance might well drop it...
