The machine is only going into the menu screens at the moment, no game will load or install so I cant put money in to clear the bank (that would be too easy lol!).

I've put the hard drive in my pc and deleted all the game files that were in "slot0" directory, and all the files in the "running" directory, so I'm hoping that will fix it.

If not, back to the drawing board and maybe I'll need a new hard drive. I'm hoping not though!

You need a refill key and refill the 10p hopper. Then load the game and press collect. This will clear it for you. Just make sure you put at least £10 worth as they need to travel all the way up the shaft.

No, this is the problem... I can't load a game. The game is disabled, and will not re-enable because "You cannot make changes whilst the machine is in credit". But I haven't made any changes!

You should just be able to enable the game that has got credit in it. You just need to go into game-config- games and enable and then turn the refill key and refill it. I had this problem with my rainbow riches and this is what I did. I cant 100& remember how but I know it was something like I just said.

Or you could delete the game off the hardrive and reinstall it the same way you add other games. If you cant find the actual game let me know and I will send you it. I have most bpak files there are.

But I am pretty sure its a simple case of just enabling the game again and then refill it. Sure thats what I did.

You need to keep it in door open mode to get into the menu screen and then enable it. If you leave the door close it will always show you the " this machine is disabled" I think its the bottom door you need to open.

If you dont have a refill key you can simply remove the wires off the connector and just touch them together this will allow you to refill it. If not let me know. Im sure I have a spear refill key laying around that you can have. I just.
need to find it lol

Its fixable you are just going wrong somewhere ad its been a while since I have had a place around with a B3. MPUmecca should have some people over there who you be able to help you if not.. Add me on MSN and do a video call and I should be able to talk you through it. Just a case of seeing it to remember how to do it.

Hey thanks for taking the time to type all that out, I really appreciate it! I've got a refil key, so I'll try using this as well. The problem is that the game itself will not enable: the machine says I cant make changes whilst the machine is in credit, but I dont want to make changes, I simply want to enable the game! Except it wont let me.

If the game would enable, I'd simply top up the balance to a quid, play it off, then change the game.

But I cant enable the current game, can't install a new one, and can't delete the current one!

Its a catch 22. I can't fix the 1st problem until I fix the 2nd, but I can't fix the 2nd until I fix the 1st!

I'll be trying later today with the hard drive which I've deleted a load of files from, so *hopefully* that will work!

I had a similar thing happen to me when I 1st got my cashino, I know yours is in a different cab but I'd have thought they ran the same, if not very similar.
All I did when it said machine disabled was...
Switched it off
Opened bottom door
Switched it on... it came up with menu screen
Turned refil key, and it showed the refill menu
Told machine it was full by pressing hopper topped up for both hoppers
Switched it off again and put some coins in each hopper, obviously more than the bank was (can't remember exactly how much it was now)
Took refill key out, closed all doors and switched it back on again
It booted properly and I could collect the bank.
The only thing is, I didn't take PC out or try and change game or anything, so unless by you doing that and deleting some files you have messed PC up then I would have thought that it would have been practically the same procedure on your machine.

If this post is a bit premature and you have already sorted it today then feel free to just ignore it

Oddly enough I tried pretty much that procedure today! I've topped up the hoppers, and done everything else... I can't collect the bank though as I can't get a game to enable.

Basically, without collecting the bank, I can't enable a game, and without enabling a game, I can't collect the bank. Its a catch 22.

I've managed to fix the 10p hopper issue though (it was just a disconnected cable!).

All I need is to know what file on the hard drive contains the current credit, and deleting it should then enable me to install a new game.

Trouble is, I just can't find out what file it is.

Other than that, I think its a new hard drive time :-(

I think your best bet now is to just buy a new hardrive and just reinstall all the games. All the games are stored on the repro and if there is some that are not let me know and I will send you any that you need.

If you want pm where you live and if you live close enough I wlll some round and have a look for you. I can defiantly fix it if its fixable when I have access to the actual machine.

I hope you get it sorted. I have read a lot of threads that Nails seems to know a lot about B3 machines so maybe he could be of some assistance to you.

Im sorry I dont. I only have the the bpak files. You should be able to pick up the original rainbow riches road to riches cheap now as all arcades seem to be getting rid of them and replacing them with the 777 cabs.

If I come across any I will pm you and let you know if you like?

When trying to verify the Game Executive it says Verifiction Failed, in the menus... Is this a problem?

It's not looking good m8, seems like each time you switch it on something else is wrong.

Maybe if you can get an image for the PC you will be able to sort it.

I THINK drslots over at Mecca might have one (depending on what mk PC it is) or maybe kdservices on here and mecca might be able to supply what you need. Either way it's got to be worth asking the question.

Well I contacted Barcrest about this, and they very kindly replied the same day.

Their advice was that its not the hard drive that needs to be cleared, its the MPU5. Apparently this can be cleared by putting the game card from a reel based machine into it, and then taking it back out again.

I'll definitely need to clear the MPU5, but I reckon I've probably also goosed the Hard drive, so theres more than likely 2 different errors here!

Ah well, it'll get sorted eventually!

Hey, sorry I've left it so long before replying, had to go away with work for some time!

Ive managed to have another good root around the machine now, and I've managed to fix one of the problems, which was "Boot up verification failed". This was fixed by removing the cable which goes from the Random number generator to the computer. Since the machine is a B3 and doesn't need the random number generator, I can't see that this will hurt.

So now I'm left with the catch 22 situation of "Can't change game settings whilst machine is in credit", but I can't use the credit until I get a game to run. The bloke at Barcrest said that plugging in the program card from a reel based PC into the MPU5 will fix this. I can't see how, but he obviously is going to know more than me, so I'll try that!

Sorry for late reply but just got back off holiday.

I'm sure either someone off here or the Mecca would lend you a card to try what the bloke from barcrest said, no point in buying one if there's no need to.

As to the verification error, I just had that myself after changing machine over from cashino to grand casino, the problem was that the grand casino I had installed was GRAND CASINO7 not the original grand casino, so it couldn't verify the game as the prog card and pik chip were for a different game, it DID however load up with door open. Once I got the correct bpak from cliffs I didn't have the problem. If you have the correct card and chip in yours for the game that's installed I'd try booting with door open first (demo mode) also another thought is, if you've had the game card out, have you put it back in properly, I had a communication error while messing with crand casino card, and that was due to me not pushing card back in fully.

Hope at least SOME of this helps you m8.

PS how easy would it be for you to get the bpak for sit down elvis off you machine and uploaded to cliffs?

I only ask as I've got (hopefully) a card with pik coming this week and I'm not sure it will work without the sit down software being installed on my machine.

ARGH! I reckon that program clear card will work better than the new MPU5 and program card I've already bought (thats taken a week to arrive so far, and still hasn't!!!). If the new program card and MPU5 doesnt do the job, then this is what I'll try next!

The game card is definitly in properly, Ive had a mate come and check it and he says that he also reckons it is, so hopefully its fine.

I'm going to go over and have another go with it shortly, so we'll see what happens, but I'll try what you've said!

Finally, getting the bpak for Elvis would be extremely simply, and if you want it mate I'll get it for you and upload it no problems. Just let me know! I presume its the £500 jackpot B3 Elvis top 20 game?

I'll keep you updated if I manage to get the machine working!!!!!!
