Hi all, now many of you will know I tend to ask for all the old stuff!
Not having much luck at the moment but everyone on here is so helpful I thought I would try this one...............................

Years ago when section 16 existed, two machines disappeared into oblivion for a while.
One was Lucky Strike, the other Max a million which were chosen not to be converted.
Lucky Strike has made a comeback but max a million has never been seen again in b3 or section 16.

Now here is my problem.........

When the likes of rainbow and elvis were converted, the section 16 software became illegal and was deleted and re-written over with b3 software on proms.
I wouldn't imagine it would be hard to find the random number generators again, the glass and the progressive top cabinet as I am hoping they will be lying about in a stock
room somewhere, the problem I have is finding the old game software/proms and pic chips to run max a million, convert it back into s16 and hey.........
I will have my dream machine back in my home.

Does anybody know where I can find this, who may still have a max a million somewhere and not converted it, or someone who can help?

I am willing to pay good money for it if necessary but have tried 100's of arcades and big names like Barcrest and JNC etc who either no longer have it or won't supply it even if they have (barcrest for example)
because it is illegal to distribute now.

Now £2 stake has returned I kind of hoping it won't be so hard to get hold of and would die to re-convert this machine.

Any help on how you do it, what I need and can it be done or am I completely barking up the wrong tree?

It would be great to hear from anyone who may be able to help me in my quest.

hmm, I know this is a old post, but the biggest stumbling block does seem to be getting hold of running section 16 software. I myself have had some success down converting B3 to S16 but always always get no further than this.  trouble is i just cannot work out what log file it is trying to write to and failing! very frustrating to get this far and no further, gotta be close!!

 

anyone got any ideas??

I think my barboot is too 'new' and that's the problem, but that's the best guess from what I have learnt so far in getting this far.

Would love to see this working as it was such a fantastic machine!

i could get you an original barcrest RNG tomorrow - but it wouldnt do you any good unless you have the software.

 

if your that desperate i would try places like JNC and speak to their technical dept. as their resources are huge. my best guess would be to find a cabinet that still has the old .bpk files in there.

Oh I have got a RNG, the randy 2v0 !! 

 

Just need I am sure a old version of barboot as the newer versions have all bits related to the com port and RNG driver totally removed from it.

barboot 4.3.1.188 i have and exec 2.0.1.13 on B3, now i have a version 1.something exec for S16, so presume the barboot will have to be version 3.something or before to contain the correct files needed.

 

like you say ANY s16 hard drive would do even non booting as could piece it back together as I am doing so far. has anyone got as far as I have recreating S16 screens?

it's zero looking on the s16 front, until I can get the exec and barboot working so it boots to a menu I cannot get any further.. at a stand still with the project now until someone comes up with old barboot or a old s16 hard drive working or not which is looking very unlikely.

Bit of luck with S16..... something not seen in a while...... s16 elvis top 20 with progressive pots on a rainbow riches topbox (rr topbox is all I could get!)

Thats also in realplay door closed mode, with PIC chip! still a lot going on behind the scenes with all this even if they are old models.
