So it's the same as Pie Factory then with a changed glass and the cheat removed. Oh that'll be fun.

The Vivid "cheat" is hardly hidden knowlege, it has been posted all over the place.

I can't recite it for you as things like that don't interest me and I don't remember them well enough, but if you have a look on fruit forums you will find all the info you need on it. Something to do with gambling up high before exchanging, collecting something or other then gambling up to JP on cash ladder. That's all I can remember, sorry.

Just for the people who don't know try this link www.realfruits.co.uk/samplePF.htm but be warned most have been rechipped, easy way to tell is if the bonus gives respin and it doesn't give a nudge, as the un-chipped version will give a nudge.
Well I jumped into the river
Too many times to make it home
I'm out here on my own, an drifting all alone
If it doesn't show give it time
To read between the lines

Looks to me like its bordering on Lo-Tech, I mean, wheres the Feature Trail?

I can see like a board with Cash Values on it, i.e a SuperBoard, and I see the feature stack on the right....whats that all about?
Why is it that sequels are almost always bloody useless?
Oh...because in this case, people assume 'Pie Factory = Profit', so they bang out a nasty clone, which is as near as damnit guarenteed to have no 'manipulatable' code as seen in the original.

Sounds like this is what Barcrest [IGT] is all about these days -
Vivids are all clones [All 4 One, Six Shooter, Quick on the Draw, Card Shark AND Jumping Jokers - as examples]
Barcrests are all clones [Their 2 most recent machines, Gimme Gimme Gimme and Super Star are both clones of their previous machines, Cash Bang Wallop and High Flyer respectively...and IMHO High Flyer is one nasty piece of work, has a £2 block on most boards]
Red Gaming - While I love em, they are all the same machine.

Taking the above into consideration, on the Vivid front, I think this is quite funny -

"We are delighted with the positive response that Jumpin’ Jokers has received. Jumpin’ Jokers is a testament to the skills of our design team which continues to drive innovation and explore new opportunities."

Ok, maybe its just me, but I used to look for brands such as Barcrest to offer a fair game, and each machine felt a little different. I can see how sharing platforms can be useful, there were several Monty Python clones, but I think enough is enough and companies like Vivid should learn that if they have nothing fresh to bring to the players, they shouldnt bring anything at all....

Personally, I would love to play classic £5>£15 machines in pubs. I feel that the £25 Jackpot offers nothing of value in the slightest....people may claim that the £25 makes them more desirable, but all I see is that it's gonna suck £75 to pay out a streak when all I like is to have a fair game and a bit of a laff...I recently put £20 into a backing HiLowatha, and was offered 2 boards, one killing at £2 and the other at about £2.40 - where has the playability gone?

Oh well, that about everything off my chest once again, so I'm off to play on my own machine, £5JP, 10p play and 86% - The way I would like it to be.

i agree whole-heartedly the £25jp has taken all the fun out of machines these days and what really gets on my tits is the fact that even on brand spanking new machines ther win below jp is still only a tenner some are 15 but most are still the £10 WHY!?

I agree with everything you have said.

Out of interest, what machine do you have on 10p £5, is it a recent machine or an older vintage?

Im a fruity addict and have been for many years...with pie factory, if it says "CASH" in the red led screen then its been chipped, also the nudge tip mentioned is a check...so this is what works for me, i go to machine with at least £40 in change, and play DONT play for feature, if it rolls in take win and gamble cash high and low. The object is to gamble cash wins high and low. It will take some attempts, on the £25 jp machine gamble win to £15 then exchange for feature, gamble high low to "UPPER CRUST" and dont touch machine....let it time out....totally!!!! keeping a few quid in the float, the next win gamble high and low to J.P, Then play for the feature board, You should see 3 red chefs, Play for HOTS, ie get all 3 hots lit, this will give u another £25, and depending on machine float a repeat, amount from this will vary, ive got between 12 and 25 again....so there u go, hope it helps...happy gambling x x x
Erm...im a bit short can u lend me a tenner?

I got stitched on £15 on this machine once - gave a 2 and then I went hi and got a 1. Next board was all red chefs... Although I like Pie Factory, I find it generally isn't a profitable machine and if anyone can find an unchipped vivid, you're laughing if you know the cheat.

Also, if anyone's interested, I've got some decent info on Connect 4.

I only tend to play red gaming machines now but I played one last night and it sucked big time.... It's a new one called Paint The Town Red. Has anyone one else played it???? Now if you get cornered you can't pick what corner you move too...

Agreed! Had this one installed in my pub 2 weeks ago.
Put about 50 quid in, and as you know newly installed machines normally drop pretty quickly, but this one never offered me anything above a fiver.

Haven't touched it since - it finally dropped 75 on someone yesterday.

[quote name='"JustInfo"][quote name='"BarcrestBenito"']Oh well' date=' that about everything off my chest once again, so I'm off to play on my own machine, £5JP, 10p play and 86% - The way I would like it to be.[/quote']

Well JustInfo.....sorry for not replying :)
Its a Barcrest Each-Way-Nudge MPU5 from 1998. It was in a sorry state when I got it...bloke replied to my email with 'Bulbs OK' - I changed 47 the first day! Had a crowbar attack, but the morons only took a corner off the cashbox plastic cover.....shows how tough the machines are [and probably explains the 120kg!!]

I have found the Hi Flyer and clones to be the culmination of a bad period for Barcrest. From the company that released what I consider to be a modern classic [Spiker the Biker]..we now get 3 clones [Hi Flyer, Big Cheese, Super Star] all of which are disgusting multi-blocked mounds of shite. Lets be honest....If a machine is going to solidly offer £2 maximum per board.....going to the extent of adding nudges every spin on the board (am I the only one that always has 16 nudges = £1.60 on this thing?) then I can't be bothered to go near the thing.
The first time I went on it, it was backing, and offering £3 a board - someone had lost a fair bit on it apparently - and after £40 in it was offering the same £3 - no RED modes along the way. It then dropped £25 no repeat from the single NORMAL shot I had on the board, and followed up with some pretty weak afterplay - £50 in and £35 out. I then played it again in a local some weeks later - It was backing again....that night I lost £60 in it, and that, coincidently, was the night I gave up playing machines for profit. Playing my Each Way Nudge on £5/10p 86% shows me what a machine should offer - Fun, Value for Money [at the worst a £10 suck, then normally a £5JP/maybe repeat or a Streak of £5>£12]. IMHO, a machine in a pub should be about winning Beer Tokens, not a way of gambling for large profits.

Off I go again, and if anyone has any JPM Impact spares let me know!!!!

EDIT:] Does that quote at the top of the page appear OK to you? I can never get them to work :S
