Just wondering if these are now runnable in v6.1, as seen ROMs for various ones via planetemu.
Also is there any hi res images around for these.
As the fairgames site only has small images afaik.

I tried pluto5 but couldn't get any life out of them, maybe they're missing a rom or two
The ROMs are p1 p2

They do show signs of life, but!!!! , reel 1 just spins on it's own, so possibly needs setting up properly.

If they're on Pluto 5 you need the company specific FPGA (kind of like a boot chip, I guess). The game contains mappings and codes specific to the FPGA to be used. Pluto 6 has something similar though I can't remember what....long time ago since I did a P6 game.

I still have a P5 dev kit and machine, however.

I am sure Speedy from Fair Games won't be too happy you trying to crack his software (nice bloke though, known him for years!)

Unfortunately, cracking security on these techs is essential for preserving them digitally.   I wonder how many people have stepped up to Chris and offered him help with their software security?   Yet, here we all are enjoying the fruits of Chris' hard work with mfme.   The sheer scope of mfme is immense.

Would any of your contacts at such manufacturers be interested in helping the Emulation Scene, obviously when their games become retired?

I can have a word but the smaller guys are far more paranoid ("concerned" might be a better word) about piracy. The big boys don't care any more - mainly as they don't make AWPs....

The thing is, the Pluto platform was used by just about everyone and every FPGA was unique....
