Is it possible for some one who's made a layout with a disc reel make a small step by step guide for us dummies who've not made a layout with one yet.
The reason I ask as hopefully dxing demolition derby and afaik it uses a disc reel.
I know on machines such as battle axe where the whole disc is visible you need to cut a perfect circle out of the art in order to make it run true, but what about machines such as cannonball run etc. Where the reel is only partially seen, i.e one section of it. Do you just cut n fill that section?

The partly seen ones just make your disk reel, the put it in place, you then make a disk reel overlay to cover the parts you don't want to be seen.

I'll try that on d derby.
basically do the same as you would with a standard reel/belt reel for partially covered ones

Here is the image for the disc reel in question as you can see only the top half is visible, the bottom half has the "rev it up!" lamped and the three rev counters also lit. Can these be lamped over the top of the disc reel, if not could i do a normal band as like the original classic before it

Yes that can be done no problem. Create the disc image, then create the overlay from the background and make the top half circle transparent but leave the arrow in
