hi folks,ive had a hard drive crash and after reinstalling everything im getting this error when trying to load MFME......any ideas please ?

Is your defaultsounds folder missing?.

Sorry to hear that. Hope you get it sorted as I'm sure there are a few wizards on here to help you. I'm not one of them I'm afraid as an a youngster at this myself.

Hi Cashbox1, and to all that get errors and attach thumbnaes: please can you be more clear what the error is as my speech reads a string of numbers and letters rather the onscreen text, for example, unable to load direct sound. Many thanks. I will maybe be able to help out then.

Can not create tech sounds folder the error says ihf.

I would uninstall it, restart and then install again...

 

This is what the MFME folder should have in it

tried everything here,im at a loss lol  this is my mfme folder :  mfme.jpg   59.62KB   0 downloads

Post up a screenshot of the contents of the Default Sounds Folder.

Also rescan the database

this is my default sounds folder,i cant scan the DB as mfme crashes before it initialises and gives the error as posted earlier

More than half the folders are missing.
Download mfme again.

Yes and there should be well more folders in there for all the techs.

Yes that is what it's complaining about.

 

Perhaps the permissions are not allowing MFME to create the other folders?

 

Perhaps try running it once as Administrator?

sorted ran as admin and everything works... thanks Chris

Glad you got it sorted Bri, now I'm full of cold so playing fruities to amuse me and it's slowly getting me through the day as time drags on ... I had to redownload MFME too because of Super Bar-X running super slow haha, and it would take 10 seconds for the feature board for the Simpsons to show. Since this redownload and an uninstall and tidy-up of my lappy it's running good again.
