I heard this on BBC 5 live. This guy died at 88. He was the world record holder for running a mile under 4 minutes. I myself, have never heard of him, but I'm glad he lead a good life.
RIP Sir Roger Banister

I've heard of him. First person to to run a mile in 3 minutes 59.4 seconds in 1954. Didn't know he was still alive, also saddened to hear of his death.. A great bloke.........R.I.P.

To do what he did after finishing a shift at work was groundbreaking back in the day...

He was also a pioneering doctor in Neurological Disorders, saving many lives, ironic that Parkinsons Disease got the better of him.
