Good morning all!

I've got a Take it or Leave it machine with the SR5e mech, not currently accepting new pound coins.

Are these paired with the machines at all? It will prob take a week to get mine updated but there is someone only 15 miles from me selling one that fully updated for only £10 more!

Not paired no. Any mech of the same model should fit your machine without issue.

You should be fine with any mech from the sr5 series.

I've got a Red Gaming Show Us The Mummy, in the same cab, but using a basic sr5, but have just sent it in to Steve @ Swallow Amusements on Thursday, got e-mailed Saturday to say it's ready.

Cost just £20 all in, including postage.

Brilliant thank you! I've sent it off now anyway so hopefully get it back by end of the week.

Is it exactly same to get the note acceptor updated to take the new £5 and new £10? Or should I wait until the new £10 is released then get that updated?

Thanks ;)

Going to assume you have the same note acceptor as mine, which is an NV8..... Unfortunately, these noty's can NOT be recalibrated for the new polymer / plastic notes, so you will need to replace it with a more modern one..... NV10 USB (Has to be the USB version, as the standard one will not work), or anything newer than this in the NV series of mechs, should work, however it's not cheap.

Some info here for Thomas Change Machines, which will give you an idea of the issue, and what they recommend their users to do (Also contains info on coin mech updates too)....

Beware some suggestions will not work for all machines, especially the CF126 to replace the MS / ME range of mechs in some MPU4 based machines (Due to some voltage issue from what I can work out).

As for getting a new noty now, I would wait till the new £10 is released, so as to cut down on recalibration costs.

My manual says it has a NV10? I haven't checked the actual note reader yet though, if I do have to purchase a new one to accept the new £5//£10 is it possible to set it up so it pays out with notes as well as coins?

Thanks

Doubtful even with a noty upgrade, it can be made to pay out notes, as it's likely a game mod will also be needed (Which considering it's age, would not be possible), as well as a note recycler needing fitting.

As for what your tech guide says, there is indeed an NV10 acceptor, but it needs to be the USB variant of it to be able to have the plastic note upgrade, as you will see from the Thomas upgrade info.

If you do get a new sr5e from somewhere, ensure the dip switches on the back are both off.. as i dont think your machine needs encryption on the mech
