I've seen a few on ebay but wondered if there was any proper shops for these things out there?

The ones on ebay seem really hit and miss quality-wise and what buttons are available.

When I built a MAME cabinet there were shops dedicated to just arcade controls but I've not found one selling fruit machine buttons?

Thanks for any help you can give me ::-)

Hi Spa

Not really got anything specific in mind. I'm going to build an MFME cabinet like my MAME cabinet but don't want to use arcade buttons. Reg did a lot of work on this and he's identified around 20 buttons that would be needed to cover every (most) machines.

Not sure I'll need all that lot. I'm looking through the machines now and going to pick a good selection of the best and then work out what I need. Obviously things like High/Low/Collect/Gamble/Holds etc

I'd ideally want all the buttons to match somehow.

Or maybe get "blank" buttons that I can design/print my own graphics for? If those are a 'thing' ??

Cheers :-)

For my next keyboard, I have official buttons but I am going to make my own overlay for some of them.

Here's a few I've got off eBay every once in a while.

This chap is not 100% quick at sending, but a GREAT help and very pleased with the quality of what he sent me.  He helped me out when I reached out to him via the contact button.

Would recommend him as a seller.

Thanks Reg. Can you buy any button and then make your own background for them (i.e. can the plastic front be prised off and your own artwork go under the plastic?)?

If so then any buttons will do me and I'll just make my own themed buttons.

Cheers

Yes that is possible to do that.  You pop the top off and put your own insert into them.

I do know one place that does many of the Starpoint and Gamesman buttons (The Gamesman type are crap TBH), called Coinection, over near Bradford, Leeds.

TBH though, you are probs best looking at the list you see at Coinection to give you an idea, then pop back over here and see what we can find as members..... myself, got two large cash trays full of em, mostly the square and rectangle type Starpoint's you often find on bar-x type machines.

Thanks Stan. That's an extensive catalogue they have. I'm currently speaking to a guy on eBay that Reg recommended to get some off him initially. Great to know there's a shop out there for this sort of stuff though. Thanks for the link. :-)

Hi Reg

I bought 15 buttons off Paul today (plus switches)

Thanks for the heads up. He seems like a really decent guy as you said.

Cheers

John :-)
