Found out something weird, MFME 5.0 pitch changes the electrocoin samples and this machine is stuttering on my soundcard in MFME 5.1. Is this normal? It also acts like an old nag when the reels spin. Is this also normal? All other samples play as normal including the "Dubba dubba" sound. They also do not appear in the samples list.

the reels seem to spin slighty slow on my system which suffers no slow down on any other layouts,

i think this machine just has a long reelspin duration...but i may be wrong :)

ive read in other threads about this machine, in which the machines lamps were causing some slow down...maybe its related....maybe its not...

have you extracted the files first? i have tried to replicate your error and it only happens to me (no rom file) if i run it whilst zipped. extract the files and try again...

Big 7 does have a rather long spin time, I believe this is normal.

The reels are the 200 step type which require a fast CPU to avoid stuttering.

I think the lamps causing slowdown thing may have been to do with the Scorpion 2 Super Multi Nudge layout on an old version of MFME?

Done a disk cleanup on drive C which has freed up some CPU and disk space. I have listened to a youtube of electrocoin big 7 and yes it is slow and sometimes takes 2 secs to spin a reel. TTX, did you mention a bar X classic for MFME, could someone PM it to me? Many thanks.

Edit: When I unload my top range screen reader and load a free open source screen reader, it uses even less CPU as the expensive one. Electrocoin Big 7 works fine on this one but the internet doesn't work on the inexpensive screen reader and it sometimes sends error reports to Microsoft about Internet Explorer stopped working etc. Overall though, I'm not fussed. Could someone tell me what a coin token is in case of the £4 token jackpot? I have only seen ticket in, ticket out slots and coin slots. The token I am imagining is the type issued to use in a shopping trolley or locker.

It will be 20p tokens I presume.
I think the emulator speed is not perfect for electrocoin, I remember wizard saying about it in a thread that he had no info to go on and the speed is a estimate.
I will pm you bar x now.

Thanks for Bar X, emu speed is better on this one, and is more responsive on CPU. The winning "Dubba dubba" on this one and the nudge sample reminds me of the baby Bar X I've seen in casinos and magic 7. Did have a problem with it the first time I got £4.80, it emptied all the coins out without me pressing C for collect. Otherwise works great. Just wish I could access the samples list and save them. My favourite is that winning dubba sound. The nudge sound reminds me also of the old 90's space guns I had as a kid. A nice trip down memory lane for me! And all made by pulse and square wave synth sounds I do believe.

The CPUs are running at the correct frequency, it's the interupt timing that is a guess. So unless anyone with a real machine can get a scope on it to measure the exact timing there is not a lot I can do.

They are not samples, that's why they don't appear in the sample player. The machines uses 2 Z80 cpus, one for the game and the other for the sound which is generated by a pair of AY-3-8910s

Sorry Wizard, I've banned myself from real cash gambling. Will never ever be able to access any bar x or even any slot machine, only on here! Like I say, I am never finished in FME. So in MFME 5.0 why are electrocoin samples playing weird?

Because they were playing at the wrong frequency in 5.0 which was corrected in 5.1
