Ok, this is just an idea i have come up with and decided to give it a try although i haven't a clue how lamping works in Amber yet or whether it will be possible.

What i am planning on doing is creating "Classic" layouts in MFME using it's design tools, screendumping the layout then using it in Amber.

See attached picture, will it be possible to lamp? Will it be playable?

It will work, but why would you want to do it that way rather than creating things in photoshop or whichever drawing tool you prefer.

All you are using MFME for is to put some coloured shapes on a canvas, it's much easier imho to use photoshop and you could create something a bit closer to the original.

But yes it will work as long as you generate an Off Image and an On Image. You need to leave black holes in the off image for the alpha display, 7 segs, reels, etc to show behind the glass.

I am using MFME due to me being completely useless at doing things like this in any form of art program.

I just saw it as a way of getting new epoch layouts out there to play without having to wait for pictures / flyers for DX releases.

Anyone can then create layouts using MFME, in a form that has been around forever.

Did you see my other post on another topic regarding the blocky-ness (if there is such a word) of the reel symbols on IJ ?

MFME will be fine to design it in.  I would use mfme instead of photoshop, I use photoshop everyday but it would take much longer to design a classic with it.  I would use Adobe InDesign if anything because it is a proper page layout tool.

I started working on a pseudo classic of BWB Monopoly rebuild in indesign.  Never completed it but it was easy to create.

Yeah, the reels aren't correct, I thought that.  They look lo resolution to me.

It's not free, it's an industry standard design suite.   I use creative cloud at work but I used to use CS3 for free as the activation servers are no longer active, so it's kind of free, I don't have a disk any longer unfortunately.

It's a great tool to learn, simple shapes, text boxes and some photoshop effects built in.
