Hi all, Daryl here - and I'm back temporarily!

 

I have set up this account as a one off, for a one off thread and after which I have had my say on what I have got to get off my chest to you all, then I will no longer use it.

 

I left Fruit Emu over three months ago now, because real-life matters meant more to me than FME ever could, and would and also, to be honest I had had enough of it with the fighting here with individual members who seem to be running their own forum and agenda within the forum… and it is for the latter reason that I have had to come back and have my say.

 

Each and every one of you - and I mean everyone of you - take a step back and look at what you are doing to Fruit Emu…

 

The fighting, which is becoming vicious, tenacious and downright childish in most cases is destroying a forum that we all loved… From when Fruit Emu started back in 2003 I have been here, and only within the last few years have I seen it start to fall apart since certain members joined and also since inner circles had started to form, that made the original Mecca one look like a walk in the park!

 

Now, it is even spilling over on my own personal Facebook pages… I walked away from FME because my time with it had finished and I wanted to move on - but how can I? 

 

If you think I am going to just sit back and expect some of you to take snide potshots at me without mentioning my name, but with every full intent on implying it, then you are sadly mistaken - I'm not going to tolerate it, as the friends I have in FME-land who are on Facebook have shown me on to the Fruit Emu links to read (yes, you can read them all as a guest).

 

Now you're all grown ups here, so start acting like it… Is it that some of you with an agenda want to get Fruit Emu closed? If it is you're certainly going the right way about it, and I wouldn't blame Alex (aaamusements) one little bit if he did.

 

But why should just a select few with axes to grind and points to try and prove get a whole forum closed down in order to prove a point or some kind of victory? I've read that some of you are mentioning bullying - well consider this: if you're planning on getting Fruit Emu closed because you think you are always going to be some kind of ‘forum police’, then just think of the database of tens of thousands of members on here who aren’t involved in FME politics and have come to Fruit Emu to play and download slots from their past and present - and how it will affect them?

 

I've also read that I have been labelled as a ‘Toadie’ who goes on ‘Fruit Emu on Facebook’… Let me tell you all something about that too:  I set that page up myself personally when I was a Moderator here because life nowadays involves social media, and quite a few had approached me and asked about something like that to happen, to a) bring fresh blood into the FME scene, and b) show off our layouts and creations to a wider audience to let them know that some amusement centre slots can be played on their computers, especially those with nostalgic memories of the slots of yesteryear.

 

I am disgusted and ashamed with FME and Fruit Emu in particular by having to come back and make this thread, but such is my anger over this, and the fact that I have been sought out over things that are not even anything to do with me anymore, I am not letting that stand and why I have made this post.

 

NOW EVERYONE, PLEASE - TAKE A STEP BACK FROM ALL THIS BITTERNESS!!

 

It is festering like a boil needing to be lanced… I just hope I am the prick that can burst it!

Thankyou daryl someone actually making sense something I've be requesting for months. At least me and Ady know where we stand with each other this has all stemmed from there but that's in the past where it needs to be left. As daryl says this needs to stop now on ALL sides people are leaving because of recent situations daryl, dad rdp,barcrestjunky and other longterm members are thinking about quitting bencrest, tommy c. Now none of us want this to happen so everyone back off from each other and don't dis respect members on Facebook etc as you can be in breach of certain laws on there. So again members and mods alike please unite and make this site a friendly site once more, if you don't agree then there's nothing more that can be done.

Thanks for your comments Daryl and making the effort to bring your necessary points forward.

 

I have to say I have never got involved with everything that has been going on over the past few months and have no intentions of doing so, but like Daryl

I am making my point heard and just wanted to say that I have never come across such arrogant, childish and pathetic behaviour from people who supposedly call themselves adults.

 

It is not nice to read, it is not nice for Fruit-emu and (as said by many members) it is killing it.

 

Lets stop acting like 12 year olds in a school playground, act our age, grow up and stop this now before it goes too far (if it hasn't already)

 

As I have said, I don't get too involved in Fruit-emu, but do appreciate from reading threads, all the hard work that goes into making it work and the hard work that goes into the site for all to enjoy.

 

I would like to think this is what Fruit-emu is all about, so long may it continue and hopefully gets sorted out.

It's a shame that you had left in the first place Daryl !! I understand about your reasons and especially about your health issues tho. But from a selfish point of view, i miss you around this forum.

 

From what i understand, is that Ricardo had used the word 'Toadies' on the other thread about the FME Facebook page? From my understanding of this comment, It was no reference to you or about you whats so ever Daryl! If i'd known that the FME facebook page still had you as an active member now and you'd set it up in the first place? I wouldn't of even asked the question. I always knew that that you were on Facebook/Shit (as i call it) But i'd always thought that it was your own  personal setup! Which of course it might be, and of course you might still be a member of the FME facebook group and post from time to time.

 

No-one from this forum should of even be facebooking messages to you about this forum in the first place, saying this and that! And Quoteing things from here and there!   As you've done nowt wrong!

 

It's very sad that we've lost some great FME characters in the last few months and especially a few in the 'last couple of days'  there was no need for all ths.

To a couple of Mods, It's a two way street here! I feel sorry for aaamusements/Alex the site owner who tries to keep the bloody place going,...

Very sad. It seems that the scene keeps failing to learn from its previous spats of childishness that have existed for over a decade.

 

We've all been given this universe to play in by Chris and Tony and others have built on it. I am staggered by the number of pathetic internet warriors that are so self-centered and don't just walk away if they're not getting their own way. In a pub they'd have been splattered against a wall but they're obviously a lot braver hidden behind a router. Grow up, embrace the scene or f*** off as you've either outgrown it or need to get out more.

 

Very sad that Daryl's still having to read the riot act after all this time.
